WHEN I LOOK AT WOMEN by Amando Daguio

Food is a tremendous representation of life and how it affects us. Sometimes it is digested, while

other times it is devoured on a plate. Food is designed to be savored and shared, but if not

consumed in moderation, it can turn deadly. Food serves as a metaphor in this poetry for all that

makes each of us unique. In Amador Daguio When I Look at Women, food is used to express the

points of the poem. The food mirror shows a person's looks based on what they eat and what they

believe is beautiful. It also states that food is a crucial element of life because it nourishes all of

our senses, reminds us of the need for food and water, and gives us a sense of joy and delight.

The food in this poem is used in two ways; food with its pictures and smells, to represent foreign

countries and how exciting they may be, and also as symbols of love.
