ABSTRACT

Today, there is a lot of trash that is simply strewn everywhere in Barangay 330 Fuguso
Sta. Cruz Manila including schools, sidewalks, and individual residences. The said
barangay has been doing its best to act towards improper waste disposal by
implementing clean up drive operations in the community, probably due to lack of
awareness the resident turned blind with their garbage. This then inspired us to propose
a project called DPKN Project (Don't pay a price, Keep your barangay nice) to do
something and to help the barangay. This project includes donating cleaning materials to
barangay 330 by fundraising, accumulating recyclable waste for school supplies.

Many students want to have their own set of school supplies but lack the resources to
purchase and own one. One of the goals of our project is to convert their recyclable
waste into school supplies to help the students in said barangay aside from donating
cleaning materials and participating in their clean up drive operation we also will also
proposed a trading where residents can trade their recyclable waste to school supplies
that could help raise awareness regarding the importance of recycling and the effect of
this the environment. Along with helping to control and lessen the accumulation of
collected waste items, this also reduces excessive waste. This method of collective
action gives people a way to make their desires a reality and realize them.

The methodology of this paper aims to give the impression that anything is possible
if we put in enough time, effort, and perseverance. By that time, we'll be able to develop
more comprehensive procedures that result in more environmentally sustainable
activities while also taking the necessary steps to assist those in need.

STATEMENT OF THE NEED

One of the social problems confronting Barangay 330 Fugoso Sta. Cruz Manila was
currently dealing with improper waste disposal in their community. Improper waste
disposal can cause serious health issues such as asthma, birth defects, cardiovascular
disease, and other infectious diseases. According to WHO, improper waste disposal has
a negative impact on the environment because it causes air, soil, and water
contamination, which can pollute our environment in the long run. It also clogs water
drains and causes flooding in the community when a typhoon hits them.

If improper garbage disposal persists in the community, it is critical to address this issue.
It will wreak havoc on everyone in the Barangay, particularly the vulnerable groups of
children and the elderly. The barangay has been addressing this issue they have been
implementing clean-up drive operation in the place but people in the community may
disregard this type of issue due to a lack of awareness and ignorance about the
hazardous effects of improper waste disposal. That is why we decided to conduct a
community project proposal.

Our project proposal has two main objectives, The primary goal of this project is to
donate cleaning materials to the barangay to assist and to help them have new
equipments for their clean up drive operation and to be part of the development of their
place into a better, cleaner, and safer environment for the children and residents of the
community. The second goal of this is to convert every recyclable item donated by
residents into school supplies. The weight of recyclable waste will be used to implement
this trading system. To keep this program running, the recycled materials we collected
will be sold in a junk shop, and the proceeds will be used to purchase school supplies.

The DPKN project will be having a fundraising program where we can donate and sell
our preloved items, we will also encourage our family and friends to donate their unused
item for a cause. All proceeds will be used in our project. This project has three
advantages. First and foremost, they were able to assist students with their school
supplies. Second, by providing educational equipment, they were able to assist the
parents. Finally, by donating it will help the barangay to have new equipment to keep the
community clean and allows them to teach children about proper waste disposal.

Title: DPKN Project (Don't Pay a Price, Keep Your Barangay Nice) Project in
Barangay 330, Fugoso Sta. Cruz Manila

The goal of this project is to donate new cleaning materials to Barangay 330 in Fugoso
Sta. Cruz Manila and to show the residents or children about the importance of recycling
by launching the DPKN Program. We will donate cleaning materials as part of this project
to help barangay officials in keeping the community safe and clean. Furthermore, our
organization will run a trading program in which residents of the barangay, particularly
children, can exchange recyclable materials or waste for school supplies. We can teach
children and the residents about proper waste disposal.

Outcomes
● Improves the garbage disposal in Barangay 330, Fugoso Sta. Cruz Manila.
● It will reduce pollution and improve the air and water quality, and prevent
obstruction of drains.
● Prevent possible infectious diseases caused by improper waste disposal.
● The barangay will be able to help its students in terms of school supplies.
