Sri Gowri Devi creates and destroys the worlds as play. She is
sought by the thoughts and minds of the Yogis and Sages who are
beyond the universe. She is as resplendent as the innumerable
number of rising sun. I adore and ardently worship Sri Gowri Devi,

Sri Gowri Devi is visualized in the minds of Yogis and Sages when
they are in deep meditation. She lives in our minds and provides
pure bliss. She is the personification of the ultimate truth, wisdom
and happiness. She is of slender form. I adore and ardently worship
Sri Gowri Devi, who is my mother and who has the eyes like
lotuses.

Sri Gowri Devi has the smiling face as She is happy to see Lord
Shiva adorning the moon on His head. She has dark blueish mane
which dazzles in the shine of the moon worn by Her. Her lotus feet
are worshipped by Lord Vishnu and Indra.  I adore and ardently

being. She is the origin for all the living beings and non-living
things. She is the primary sound and She is dazzling like lightning.

Sri Gowri Devi is the power that rises and stems from the ultimate
base. She is as resplendent as the Sun, the Moon and the Fire
and She dazzles. She is the most imperceptible of the subtlest. She
is the personified form of ecstasy and bliss. I adore and ardently

नित्यः शुद्धो निष्कल एको जगदीशः

साक्षी यस्याः सर्गविधौ संहरणे च
विश्वत्राण क्रीड नलोलां शिवपत्नीं

Sri Gowri Devi is eternal, without blemish and pure Lord of the
universe. She is the one who witnesses the creation, protection and
destruction of the universe. She is the consort of Lord Shiva. I

Sri Gowri Devi possess playfully, the limitless number of universes

in Her womb. She also possesses both the invisible and visible
forms within Herself. She possesses the half (left) of Her husband’s
physique and She wanders in the mount Kailash which is of silver

Sri Gowri Devi is similar to the garland of beads where She had
twined both movable and immovable objects and beings as beads.
She is attainable only through gaining spiritual knowledge. I adore

नानाकारै ः शक्तिकदम्बैर्भुवनानि
व्याप्य स्वैरं क्रीडति येयं स्वयमेका
कल्याणीं तां कल्पलतामानति भाजां
गौरी मम्बा मम्बुरुहाक्षी महमीडे (9)

Sri Gowri Devi has varied and various levels of powers in the
universe. She occupies Herself by playing with the worlds in the
universe. She is the personification of auspiciousness. She bestows
and blesses the fulfillment of the wishes of those who worship Her

आशापाशक्लेशाविनाशं विदधानां
पादाम्भोज ध्यान पराणां पुरुषाणां
ईशामीशार्धाङ्ग हरां तामभिरामां
गौरी मम्बा मम्बरु

Sri Gowri Devi annihilates the problems and the troubles which
arose due to the effects of love and affection towards the worldly
life of Her ardent devotees who always worship Her lotus feet. She
possesses the half the physique of Lord Shiva and She is always

प्रातः काले भवविशद्ध

ु ः प्रणिधानाद्
भक्त्या नित्यं जल्पति गौरिदशकं यः
वाचां सिद्धिं सम्पदमग्रयां शिवभक्तिं
तस्यावश्यं पर्वतपुत्री विदधाति (11)

The person who with pure mind and good conduct sincerely reads
and recites this Gowri Dashakam daily in the morning shall be
blessed with the virtue of being a person whose speech becomes
true, all yogic attributes, wealth, devotion to Lord Shiva and the
mesmerizing blessings of (being able to act as per his wish) Sri
Parvathi Devi, the daughter of the mountain King.
