Hi Mike!
First of all, how are you?it's great to have news from you and I hope its all going well around
there.

I have a year of experience studying abroad, and I can help you and give you some advice.
Finding somewhere to live can be a bit difficult, specially if you're not very economically
powerful but with some hours searching for places on internet you can find a nice place
adapted to your money. Meeting new people and doing friends can seem complex at first,
but I can ensure you that is not that difficult. You can find kind and friendly people in all
places. And of course, if you are shy you can always talk to your classmates, the school is a
very easy way to meet people.

Secondly, being worried about not understanding your lessons is s dumb thing that should
stop you for going abroad. You will learn the native language on the progress, but during
that time you have the enough level of English to ask questions to your teachers. Anyway
you can always search on internet the things you don't understand and asking for help to
your mates, probably they won't have any problem on helping someone new.
