In Practice

1. Reflect on how the CHED initiatives regarding Nursing Informatics impact on

your education and preparation for becoming a practicing registered nurse in
Philippines?
- It helps us student nurses to be more engaged into the latest technology and
gain more knowledge and experience using it for us to be able use it in our work
field and to be a to make our work more easier and faster.
3. Discuss the impact of technology and informatics on society at large. How can
nurses help their clients to utilize technology in a safe and empowering fashion?
- As a future nurse, I can and I’m willing to teach my patients if they lack the
knowledge and skills to use the current technology that we have right now,
because we nurses will not just benefit from it we they can too.
In Reflection
1. Examine your own feelings about developing competency in nursing
informatics.
- I am feeling excited as I learn more things from nursing informatics because I
will be able to use as I can be a future registered nurse, and this will also benefit
me to my time and to my work because it can save time.
2. What issues come to mind when you reflect on the need for all Filipino nurses
to become cognizant and skilled in nursing informatics?
- One of the issues that come into my mind is that most of the nurses especially
the experienced ones in their line of work and different traditional nursing
practices will have a hard time coping or learning new technology
advancements for the future nurses.
3. How will nursing education change as nursing informatics becomes a strong
force for nursing curriculum? Will that impact affect the program of CHED?
- The nursing education could have a great and major change if all of us have
the necessary skill and is eager to learn this new technology that will help the us
nursing industry in our work.
