Magpopongko Rock Pools and Flats

 Magpopongko Rock Pools on Siargao Island are one of the most popular things to do.

 Just a 45-minute moped drive from the main tourist area of General Luna, the rock pools are
exposed at low tide and are an awesome spot for hours of exploring and cliff jumping.

 Magpopongko is a natural rock pool, best visited on low tide, that can be found on the east
coast of Siargao Island.

 Pungko’ in Visayan means to squat. Thus, the name Magpupungko.

 Is most famous for its tidal rock pools. Siargao makes great effort in keeping its beaches clean.

Guyam Island

 Guyam Island is a tear-drop shaped island in the Philippine Sea situated 780 kilometres
southeast of Manila in the province of Surigao del Norte.
 It is around 2 kilometres south-southeast of General Luna municipality.

The Filipino (Cebuano) word guyam means “ant” in English.

Shohoton Cove

 Shohoton Cove and National Park or also known as Bucas Grande is located in the town of
Socorro, Surigao del Norte at the western side of Siargao Island.

 The name Sohoton came from the Visayan word which means to keep low inorder to enter or
pass through.

 It is a must visit destination in Caraga region due to its unique scenery and its spectacular lakes,
rock formations, caves, the crystal clear water and the school of stingless jellyfishes., shallow
waters, and tropical paradise appeal more than make up for it.

Tinuy-an Falls

Tinuy-an Falls cascades over three tiers, with the second being the largest and most impressive. The
name Tinuy-an comes from the Cebuano word Tinuyo-an, which translates as “an intentional act or
performance to attain an objective or goal.” The name comes from a legend associated with the history
of the waterfall

What is Tinuy-an Falls known for?

The Tinuy-an falls are 95 m wide and 55 metres (180 ft) high, touted as the little Niagara Falls of the
Philippines.
Enchanted River

The Hinatuan Enchanted River, also called the Hinatuan Sacred River, is a deep spring river on the island
of Mindanao in the Philippines. It flows into the Philippine Sea and the Pacific Ocean at Barangay
Talisay, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It is found between the boundaries of Barangays of Talisay and
Cambatong.

Taktak Falls

TakTak waterfall in Santa Monica is a full- day adventure to the north part of the island. From General
Luna the waterfall is 1.5-hour drive. Cliff jumping, tree jumping, and exploration to the top of the falls
were the highlights of the adventure.

Tak take falls The name was derived from a large bell (taktak) which was thrown (hinulog) into the falls
during the 15th century or the 16th century because the local villagers considered it too loud.

The Banaue Rice Terraces (Filipino: Hagdan-hagdang Palayan ng Banawe) are terraces

that were carved into the mountains of Banaue, Ifugao, in the Philippines, by the ancestors

of the Igorot people. The terraces are occasionally called the “Eighth Wonder of the

World”

The structures’ original builders used stone and mud walls to carefully carve and

construct terraces that could hold flooded pond fields for the cultivation of rice.

Burnham Park

planner, Daniel Burnham.

Pulag National Park is the highest peak in Luzon and is the second highest mountain in

the Philippines with an elevation of 2,922 m. above sea level.

is one of the most well-known and most visited among the tourists attractions in Baguio

City. It is located at the northeast side of Baguio City. This place is usually the next stop

for tourists after The Mansion and The Wright Park.

The park is named Mines View since it overlooks the spectacular Baguio view of the

Cordillera mountains and Benguet’s gold and copper mines


TAM-AWAN Village

TOURIST SPOTS: Tam-awan Village

LANDMARK: Cordillera huts

TAM-AWAN Village is a reconstructed Cordillera village showcasing the traditional

Ifugao Huts, and Baguio’s art and culture scene. It was established by National Artist

BenCab in 1998 together with Chanum Foundation to promote the local Baguio Artists.

Tam-awan is a local word which means “vantage point”.

Catholic Cathedral

Dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title of Our Lady of Atonement, its

distinctive pink exterior, twin spires and stained glass windows make it a popular tourist

attraction in Baguio.
