MUNICIPAL RE-ECHO IN TEACHING BASIC CONCEPTS IN MUSIC (MAPEH)

FOR GRADES I-III TEACHERS

I. INTRODUCTION
Music is one of the most important and powerful things in our lives. Our life without melodies and
harmonies would be empty. Listening to and playing different tunes help us to de-stress, relax and it
can also help to motivate us in trying times.
Teaching music is difficult to do most especially if we lack knowledge about it.
Music is not among the major or minor subject of any teacher. Teaching music is the least of their
interest. Music really made teachers very hard to teach but because if this, teaching music is most
often left out. However, understanding the necessity to teach it, it is then taught haphazardly.
Teachers need to be capacitated in teaching music in the grades they taught. Thus, this is our
training proposal.

II. OBJECTIVES:
General: To enhance Teachers’ Teaching skills in music.
Specific:
1. Understand the basic concepts of Music
2. Identify and understand the meaning of different elements of music such as Dynamics, Rhythm,
Tempo, Texture, Melody, Timbre, Form)
3. Appreciate and teach music with confidence

III. METHODOLOGY
A. Participants- Grade 1-3 Teachers of Pigcawayan Municipality.
B. Venue- Pigcawayan Central Elentary School Covered Court
C. Date- August 15-17, 2022
D. Resource Person- Leah Lampao, Jean Lopez, Imelda Palma, Aiza Tancinco

Program of Activities

Day 1- Lecture on Music Framework, Timbre, Melody

Day 2- Lecture on Tempo, Texture, Form, Dynamics
Day 3- Demo Teaching/Critiquing, Distribution of Certificates

E. Budgetary Requirement
Registration- P50/participant
Certificate for Participants- token for registration
Snacks for Resource Person- token for registration
BYOB for snacks and lunch of participants
 IV. EXPECTED OUTPUT
1. Better understanding and appreciation of music by teachers.
2. Pupils are provided with meaningful and fruitful concepts and activities that will help them
become musically motivated.
