At a time when we face so many challenges in our workplace, research can help us get
beyond accepting the status quo and also resist the quick fixes that rarely work as promised
(Levin, 2006). Needless to say, research is a problem-solving process as it requires scientifically
and systematically focusing on an issue or problem that we have found in our work that we
want to fix and to find a way to deal with it better. It is therefore vital in enabling social
change.
Certainly at present time, conducting research in the new normal is an essential skillset
to learn and practice in order to provide solutions to the emerging challenges in the workplace
brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. In order for teachers, the fore runners of the
curriculum and instruction delivery in the educational system, gain an in-depth understanding of
the processes of action and basic researches, the Lower Bala National High School will hold an
in-depth two-day blended seminar/webinar-workshop on “Reorientation of Teachers on
Research Management Guidelines and Capability Building on Conducting Action and
Basic Researches” on March 25 and 26, 2021.
II. OBJECTIVES
To reorient teachers on the processes and conduct of Action and Basic Researches in
the
educational setting based on DepEd Order No. 16, series of 2017 or the Research
Management Guidelines.
To upskill teachers’ capability on the conduct, writing and reporting action research in
the classroom setting
To strengthen teachers skills in conducting, wring and reporting basic research in the
teaching field
