In the past, owls were considered witches or bad omens. In  Ancient Egypt, they
were regarded as the gatekeepers of the underworld and could also transform
them into witches. Nowadays, they are symbolized as good luck. Some say that
owls are used as a shield against any misfortunes as well as reversing bad luck
and negativities. 

The Federal Government and State Laws protect owls. Killing owls are heavily
punished due to the owl’s health and safety. Owls can live nearly everywhere
except cold areas such as Antarctica and the Arctic. They are commonly found in
grasslands, where there are a lot of caves and forests.
