I. Essential Ideas

RADICAL EXPRESSIONS
are type of expression which contains one or more radicals.

The word radical is originated from the Latin word radix which means root. Therefore, a radical is
defined as a root of an expression.
Index Radical: The symbol that is used to denote square root or nth roots.
Radicand: A number or expression inside the radical symbol.
Index: A number or root of the expression.
