I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learner understands the literary conventions that govern the different
genres. (e.g., narrative convention of fiction, etc.)
B. Performance Standards The learner clearly and coherently uses a chosen element conventionally
identified with a genre for a written output
C. Learning Competencies / Create samples of the different literary elements based on one’s
Objectives. experience (e.g. metaphor to describe an emotion)

After they have guessed it, the whole line of the song will be presented in
the class.
( The song to be played are those with lyrics that has literary elements
present)

Abstraction (____ minutes). The teacher will facilitate the discussion of the following concepts;
Strips of paper will be rolled with words written in them. The students will
pick one and will share what the word is to him/her or describe it.
Example
School – My school is a home. / My school is clean and is filled with
colorful flowers, towering trees …
Love - family
With the use of the literary elements, the students will write a paragraph of
5-8 sentences sharing their notable experiences in life.
After the given time, they will share it to their pairs. 4-6 students will share
it to the class and the classmates will take down notes the literary elements
used.
(The teacher will then solicit and inject the important value/importance of
literary elements in sharing one’s experiences)

Revise and re-write the sentences to make it more vivid and descriptive.
