Ernest Concepcion (1977-present)

Concepcion is a studio artist whose work experiments with intense emotion,
deconstructing images in his paintings, sculptures, and installations. He creates
art like recording a music album, where each painting is from a series of nine.
Concepcion describes it as producing an old favorite, a classic, sleeper hit and
one piece he doesn’t really like but keeps coming back to.

Fernando Amorsolo (1892-1972)

Fernando Cueto Amorsolo was a portraitist and painter of rural Philippine
landscapes. Nicknamed the "Grand Old Man of Philippine Art," he was the first-
ever to be recognized as a National Artist of the Philippines

Ang Kiukok (1931-2005)

Ang Kiukok was a Filipino painter known for his expressive, Cubist-like works.
He often chose dynamic or disturbing subject matter, frequently depicting rabid
dogs, crucifixions, and screaming figures in an abstracted geometric style.

Napoleon Abueva (1930-2018)

At 46 then, Napoleon V. Abueva, a native of Bohol, was the youngest National
Artist awardee. Considered as the Father of Modern Philippine Sculpture, Abueva
helped shape the local sculpture scene to what it is now.

Juan Luna (1857-1899)

Juan Luna is without doubt the most famous and celebrated Filipino artist in the
history of Philippines. With iconic and remarkable masterpieces such
as 'Spolarium', 'Blood Compact' and 'The Death of Cleopatra', Luna is known for
his dynamic and unique style, along with his dramatic and captivating canvases.

Leeroy New (1986-present)
Initially trained as a sculptor, Leeroy’s work blends theatre, fashion, film, production design,
and public art. He graduated from the prestigious Philippine High School for the Arts,
before continuing his Fine Arts degree at the University of the Philippines. He has received
artist residences in Singapore and Australia and was awarded the 13 Artists Award by the
Cultural Center of the Philippines in 2014. His large-scale public art uses common objects
and materials found in everyday environments.

Elmer Borlongan (1967-present)

Elmer Misa Borlongan is a prominent contemporary Filipino painter best known for his
distinctive use of figurative expressionism.

Martha Atienza (1981-present)

Born to a Dutch mother and Filipino father, Atienza continues to live both in the
Philippines and Holland. After receiving her Bachelor in Fine Arts from the Academy
of Visual Arts and Design in the Netherlands, she accepted residency grants from
England, Australia, New York and Singapore. Her video art reflects snapshots of
reality and the environment drawn from her Filipino and Dutch roots.

Hernando R. Ocampo (1911-1978)

Hernando Ruiz Ocampo was a Filipino National Artist in the visual arts. He is also
fictionist, a playwright and editor.

Botong Francisco (1912-1969)

National Artist for Visual Arts Carlos “Botong” Francisco is considered one of the
Philippines' most distinguished muralists. He created enormous canvasses that
chronicled the mythical world of the Filipino and its history, often seeking inspiration
from tradition, folklore, myths, legends, and customs.
