Lecturer HOD EEE
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

I wish to record my indebtedness and thankfulness of all those who helped me

to present this seminar titled “GEOTHERMAL ENERGY TO PRODUCE
ELECTRICITY AT AVERAGE TEMPERATURE”. First and foremost, I
thank god almighty for his providence and for being the guiding light
throughout the seminar.
I express my sincere gratitude to the great institution MANGALAM
POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE, ETTUMANOOR and the honourable
principal, PREKASAN D, for providing the necessary facilities for the
successful completion of this seminar.
I would like to thank JYOTHI ZACHARIAH, HOD, department of electrical
and electronics engineering, Mangalam Polytechnic College for her valuable
support and encouragement.
I express my deep and sincere gratitude to SACHU SEBASTIAN, Lecturer,
department of electrical and electronics engineering, Mangalam Polytechnic
College, my guide, for her valuable advice and whole hearted co-operation.
I also thank all other faculty members in our department for the help they had
extended. This acknowledgement will stand incomplete if my parents and
friends are not thanked, whose constant encouragement and moral support have
helped me to a great extent and was the fuel of my determination.
ABSTRACT
The paper presents the possibility of using geothermal energy for electricity
production at average temperatures. The authors considered two options for
their study, namely binary cycles (organic Rankine and Kalina) and the
thermoelectric generators. After a comparative study for then proposed solution,
was chosen Kalina cycle and was proposed a solution for a geothermal power
plant. The advantages are based on the fact in Oradea exists an important
geothermal water reservoir at average temperatures, that can be used to
successfully implement the solution to obtain electricity presented by the
authors. This solution is among the newest in the field of geothermal waters at
average temperatures.
