Accomplishment Report
September 28-30, 2020

“Education must Continue.” This is the statement of the Department of

Education after the unprecedented event that transpired this year. Teachers
must continue to engage in workshops and training to enhance our teaching
skills. We are very fortunate that the Department of Education continues to
support the opportunity to grow and develop our skills. It is the reason why the
Matusalem National High School came up with a School-Based Inservice
Training using the Webinar Modality from September 28-30, 2020.
On the first day of the INSET, the first topic “Lesson Planning Under the
New Normal and Home-Room Guidance” was discussed by Sir Marlou B.
Yadao, highlighting the new ways in creating the New Form of Lesson Planning
that will be accomplished every week. Lesson Planning is vital in the teaching-
learning process as it will be the structure of how the lesson will be delivered to
students efficiently especially in this time of Pandemic. There was also a focus
on the Home-Room Guidance, which tackled the importance of the Parents in
the delivery of the lesson. Parents should guide their children in their lessons
and subjects, and if the parents’ guidance is not enough; the extension of the
teachers will be activated anytime. The second and third topic was “Open
Educational Resources” and Synchronous and Asynchronous Learning which
was discussed in the afternoon in the by Virgilio H. Roxas Vina R. Malana,
respectively. It highlights the feedbacking strategy that will be used in the New
Normal.
On the second day, the fourth topic “Instructional Support Teachers
Under new Normal” was discussed by Danny G. Baldovino, which enumerates
various instructional supports for teachers under this new normal
environment. The fifth topic “How to Assess Learners Under this New Normal”
was discussed by Flory Ann R. Doronio, which accented on how to assess our
learners using the Cognitive Process Dimension. The sixth topic “How Do We
Keep Students Engaged when Teaching Remotely.” was discussed by Lovely A.
Mercado
 On the third day, the seventh topic “Managing Students Discipline while
at Home” was deliberated by Cane Ray Valdez, which emphasized the
behaviour of the students that are displayed in today's scenario. The eighth
topic “School Health and Safety Protocols” was conferred by Revilyn B. Joson.
And the last topic was the updates on Learners Information System by Mayo
Genie B. Manzon. The topic concentrates on the problems that the teachers,
students, and parents face in this time of pandemic. Teachers are belittled and
demoralized by statements and comments without seeing their efforts.
Problems were raised and the participants are asked to formulate their
suggestions and solutions to address the problems.
The In-Service Training went smoothly and successfully even with
problems in the internet connection of some participants.
