Gender Equality and Freedom

Society nowadays is evolving, as generations to generations continue to submerge the norms that
has long been practiced is starting to get diminish by the new generations. It is undeniable that
social norms is one of the reasons why a society is pushed to the idea that if something is going
away with the said standard it will be labeled as wrong. If you become person that does not pass
the standard of the society you will be an outcast. Social norms exist because they are what
organize a society. However some norms are suffocating and unacceptable for some people.
Gender equality has been an ongoing struggles for many years that at some point it has become a
societal issue. Our society only accepts two existing genders which is the male and female and
other than that are not acceptable. This is one of the reason why gender equality exist, because
many of the people in our society is not open for a change. This is even harder for the people
who categorize themselves as the LGBTQ+ Community to be accepted by the society. This
people are labeled as outcast because they are seen as different and does not pass the said criteria
of the existing genders. People that are part of this community are either discriminated or bullied.
They have been struggling and fighting for their rights as citizens of the country since time
immoral when clearly there is no need for that because every human should have their rights to
live freely as a person and enjoy the life without fearing for their safety and wellbeing.
Equality and freedom are something that every human should have no matter what his/her
sexuality. A persons freedom to enjoy his life and be accepted should not be defined on the
standard of the society because if he believe that he is a woman by heart and can love a man or
she is a man, and wanted to marry a woman nothing is wrong with that and it is their right to be
the person that they believe they are without the inconvenience of the society’s judgment. A
father should love his son even if this son of his is a gay because no matter what happened it is
his blood and flesh that runs through his veins and his sexuality is not something that disvalue
his worth as a person and human deserving of love and respect. A mother should respect her
daughter if she wanted a woman as a partner in life because it is who she is and her sexuality is
not wrong. People should stop labeling the gays as outcast because they are human beings and
they deserve to be respected not only for being a human but also for being a person that is brave
enough to be true to themselves even with the knowledge that they will get criticized and judged
by the society. Love should be love no matter the gender or sexuality.
