Application Guideline
2021
SIIT offers nine international programs in Engineering, Technology, and
Management. All courses are taught in English. Students from SIIT
partner universities are welcome to join the Student Exchange
Program for 1 - 2 semesters. Interested students, please contact your
International Office for official nomination and application procedures.

 A copy of passport

6 Course Registration Procedure **Students will receive a list of available courses at least 2 weeks before semester start,
in order to reserve for their expected courses (We cannot guarantee whether their
expected courses will be available for them or not)
7 Number of Required Credits At least 9 credits (3 courses) but not more than 22 credits per semester, all courses to be
enrolled must receive approval from the program advisor.

8 Add, Drop, and Withdraw Add, Drop and Withdraw Period is within the first two weeks after semester starts.
Periods

9 Number of Credits per Course 2-3 credits, depending on the course.

10 Total teaching hours including Total of 48 hours for 3 credit course


examinations per one course Total of 32 hours for 2 credit course

11 Grading System The academic performance of students is evaluated using the grade point average (GPA)
system.

12 Language used in Teaching 100% conducted in English

13 English Requirement English Proficiency test score (TOEFL or IELTS, or an equivalent, or letter confirming
applicant’s English proficiency).

14 Accommodation Exchange students who have been accepted to study at SIIT are requested to inform SIIT
of their arrival date at least 1 month in advance, in order to process the reservation of
dormitory nearby the campus.

15 General Assistance Staff of the SIIT International Affairs and Corporate Relations Division or a buddy of an
exchange student will make dormitory room reservation, provide airport pick-up service,
and take students to the dormitory.
16 Visa Requirements/Letter of Acceptance SIIT International Affairs and Corporate Relations Division will send the acceptance letter
to the home university. Please bring the letter of acceptance with other required
documents to the Embassy to apply for the Non-Immigrant Visa “ED” (Student Visa).

17 Orientation Session One week before the semester starts.

**Exchange students are required to attend this session.

18 Recommended Arrival Date At least one week prior to the semester starts.

19 Health Insurance Prior to departure, exchange student should purchase health insurance that will cover
any medical expenses that may be incurred during their stay in Thailand.

20 Textbooks Students can purchase textbooks at the bookstores on/off-campus.

Other regulations including cultural information and campus life information will be
informed to the students on the orientation day.

22 Cost of Living Estimate cost of living at SIIT (approximately)

Housing: 4,000 - 10,000 Baht/month


Meal: 100 - 150 Baht/day
3,000 - 4,500 Baht/month
Travel cost:
- Taxi start from 35 Baht
(from downtown to the campus is about 300-400 Baht)
- Minivan 30-40 Baht/round (downtown – campus)
- Bus 10-45 Baht (depends on the distance)

**Students need to provide approximately around 15,000 Baht/month

university for nomination. Nominated student submits an application
and required documents to student’s exchange coordinator at home

submitted to SIIT International Affairs and Corporate Relations
(IA&CR).

5. An acceptance letter is sent to home university.

6. IA&CR sends the greeting message to accepted exchange students
regarding accommodation and airport pick-up service. June 16 November 16

7. Course reservation

8. Orientation, Campust Tour, and Thai Studies session
