DCT Network Security Engineer
DUTIES:
Gathering and documenting existing client network and device information into a workbook that will be
leveraged to develop the migration plan.
Support FW & NW engineering in the development of the Engineering Work Order (EWO) & Firewall
Changes.
Entry Level experience with network engineering and architecture skills.
Ability to support a team of network engineers and client accounts in the network transformation effort.
Strong requirements gathering and documentation of network environments.
Respond to requests for technical information from Lead Engineers.
Travel may be required
REQUIRED:
Formal network education (CCNA desired, or higher education) or at least 3 years’ experience in network
engineering and documentation.
Expert level capabilities within the Microsoft Office suite of tools, especially Excel and Visio.
Knowledge of IP, including TCP, UDP, NATing, OSPF, and BGP.
Knowledge of IOS stack layer 1, 2, 3
Candidates should be located in Toronto or Calgary (Canada).
Technical Skills (Some or All)
- Cisco – Routers / Switches
- Knowledge of non-Cisco products (H3C, ProCurve, Juniper)
- Trunking – 802.1q / VLAN
- MPLS
- Spanning Tree Protocol – STP / RST / MSTP
- Cisco PIX/ASA Firewalls and/or Checkpoint firewalls
- SSL and IPSEC VPNs
- OSPF / EIGRP / BGP / RIP
- F5 Load Balancing
- Packet Analysis tools including WireShark or Netscout
- TACACS/RADIUS
- Linux experience desired
Other requirements
- Knowledge of network security products
- Documentation skills
- Willing to work overtime and nights/weekends as needed to support changes
- Ability to travel locally as needed.
EDUCATION:
HS diploma or equivalent required
