CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Reporting to the Automation Superintendent, your responsibilities will be as follows:

• Stimulate an environment where willing Safe Behavioural Observations are conducted;
• Assist with the mitigation of equipment risks creating an environment of awareness to risks and threats
for proactive identification and / or mitigation;
• Mentor and train team members on the consistency and continuity of automation applications;
• Initiate actions to optimize automation effectiveness and resource allocation during control and
measurement;
• Guidance and governance of Instrumentation projects, for specific business units through the design,
implementation and monitoring of C&I systems strategies, procedures, standards and control
philosophies;
• Participate in operational systems and processes to reduce / eliminate fatalities, serious disabling injuries
and lost time injuries;
• Assist in implementation of operational systems and processes to meet environmental and Occupational
regulatory standards;
• Monitor the application of safe operation procedures and guide and coach staff on best practices;
• Coordinate the implementation processes with adequate measuring instruments to achieve automation
objectives, maximize resource utilization, optimize processes and reduce data errors;
• Assist with the mitigation of equipment risks creating an environment of awareness to risks and threats
for proactive identification and / or mitigation;
• Mentor and train team members on the consistency and continuity of process control & instrumentation;
• Assist in Implementation of advanced and expert control systems and measurements to effectively
manage and optimize process control & instrumentation;
• Participate in the configuration, customization and integration of process control & instrumentation
systems and processes aligned business requirements and Engineering Strategy;
• Control and monitor adequate change control procedures and processes with a holistic approach on the
impact on the overall Business unit operations;
• Ensure the correct Implementation of systems and processes to enhance data integrity throughout the
various measuring points within the automation processes;
• Participate in the facilitation and agreement of SLA's with the key stakeholders and enrol team members
in the agreement process;
• Participate in research and development interventions targeted at identifying new technological
enhancements and best practices;
• Participate in the creation of environment for continuous improvement and growth by means of continuous
improvement technology and benchmarking.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Serious contenders will have a Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with minimum
experience of 3 to 5 years in related areas; have managed small projects; Show oral/written proficiency
in the English language.
