biodiversity of the Sierra Madre forests and displace thousands of indigenous people who have

lived there for generations. Kaliwa Dam can destroy the biodiversity of Sierra Madre because of

its Permanently displaces at least 126 species of fauna, including the endangered Philippine

Eagle. 300 hectares of forested area in the Sierra Madre will be permanently flooded. This

project will also cause irreversible damage to the environment. The Kaliwa Dam Project is

against the national interest of the Philippines, violates legal procedures, and is in conflict with

the Philippine constitution.

Furthermore, the construction of the dam will not only affect the habitats of the

Indigenous people but it will also affect the habitat of the endangered species. It will also cripple

our defense against strong typhoons. It will have a big impact on our environment both in the

biodiversity of the flora and fauna of Rizal and other parts of Quezon. Because we still have

major raptors, animals, plants, tress in that area. And the area where the dam was built is the food

basket of Tanay Rizal. Where other people's food comes from the market. That's why they are

finding some places that they can import their food. The construction of the dam will

permanently displace a large variety of fauna, including the Endangered Philippine eagle. 300

hectares of forested area in the Sierra Madre Mountain range will be permanently flooded. The

construction of the dam will directly impact and threaten almost 96 endemic species. This dam

will violate the National Integrated Protected Area System Act because the location of the dam

will include the Kaliwa Watershed which is a protected forest reserve, wildlife sanctuary, and

national park. At least 100,000 lives will be out at risk and danger because of the increased

chances of flooding. Increased risk of heavy flooding and decreased protection against
typhoons due to its impact on the Sierra Madre. The construction of the dam will

violate the law, mainly R.A.8173 and R.A. 7586.

on contrary, people think that kaliwa dam will help to export food and help our economy. But the

truth is kaliwa dam will cause a lot of damage in our environment especially Sierra Madre that

protect us from typhoon

In Conclusion, Kaliwa dam has many disadvantages specially for our environment and

Indigenous people. Although this can help many modern citizens who are living in Manila who

suffer from water shortages, it can affect and harm our environment, people, and animals who

are living and relying on Kaliwa river which is the habitat of thousands of species and people.

straight out plain human beings, the same as everyone else' ". We are one of the few people who

can speak up for our beloved indigenous people and environment, let's not waste our time to

speak and use our voice to help them
