Directions: Do the following:
The students will be given copies of the article,
“Ang Bayan Muna Bago ang Sarili”
(Excerpts from the Homily of Jaime Cardinal Sin
at the mass celebrating the 5th death anniversary of Ninoy Aquino)
1. In groups, students will be asked to answer the questions:

 What critical approach did the author use? Explain why you think that is the
approach used.

 Do you agree with the author or not? Support your answer.


 If you are to write a critique paper for this text, what other approach would you
use? Why?

2. Give your reactions on the article by presenting any of the ff:


a) Poem
b) Poster
c) Comical skit
d) Rap or song
An argumentative speech for less than 2 mins.

Generalization In giving reactions there are critical approaches that can help you write or formulate
effective critique. Anchoring your ideas on these critical approaches will allow you to
produce a reliable written work.
