Would you prefer to run your own business or work for someone else?

During my professional carrier I am observing how companies are works. It is difficult to

own the company and maintain business. In my opinion best solution for me would be to collect
experience needed to run own business in someone else company and after a few years start
something new from scratch with people I have met in companies where I have worked. It gives
me the opportunity to understand the business and processes which are included into them. I am
understanding that own company is a heavy workload for owner, but I think after years of
experience I will be ready to start it and maintain.

Of course, own business has many advantages e.g., we do not have to report to anyone,
we are reporting to ourselves, we can work when and where we want. But between advantages
there are also a lot of disadvantages. In my opinion the biggest one is responsibility for the
people who we are hiring in our company. It is in our hand if they will have a work to do and in
consequence if they will have a money to feed their families.

Topic 2
Discuss a famous merger/takeover.

The famous takeover which I have in my mind is this one between polish
telecommunication company “ERA” and German provider “T-mobile”. T-mobile has bought
stock exchange controlling stake of Era company in 2011 and rebranding has processed.

In many cases the employees have been fired-out and T-Moblie bring their own specialist
to maintain telecommunication infrastructure. The most valuable employees were kept by new
owner and included into multicultural teams.

In consequence polish telecommunication brand “ERA” was included into European

company and no longer exists on the market under this name. Maybe it was the only way to keep
this business running and protect the company against bankruptcy.
