DO’S AND DON’TS IN WRITING A RESEARCH STUDY

In research writing, there are not only rules, but also guides on how to write a proper research
study. In following these, the researchers can easily create a research study without any problem.

Do’s
1. Practice as often as you can. That’s how you stay in touch with writing and continuous
improvement.
2. Know your audience well. You are writing for them, not for yourself.
3. Proofread and rewrite repeatedly.
4. Know your product well. You are expected to write facts, not fiction.
5. Plan your time. This is a challenging career and you have to multitask during your project.

Don’ts
1. Don’t release your content without a thorough review.
2. Don’t think this profession is just about basic writing.
3. Don’t be afraid of technology. It’s just another way of doing something, but doing it better.
4. Don’t write without defining a scope first. Know when will be the limit of your study or it
will have variety of information that is unnecessary for your topic.
5. Don’t cite a paper you have not read.

research.

If some studies older are still helpful for your study and could be useful for this generation,
you are allowed to add them.

CHAPTER III: RESEARCH METHODOLOGIES

 Shows the specific procedures or techniques used to identify, select, process, and analyze
information about a topic.
