Tips for use
What does the Spare Parts The Spare Parts Catalogue contains
Catalogue contain? What ▪ all main parts of engine,
does not contain? ▪ pipings ≧ nominal width 10 mm,
▪ parts, which are used in operating device and in relevant pneumatic and
hydraulic systems, and
▪ tools with their spare parts.
The Spare Parts Catalogue does not contain
▪ subordinate or plant-specific insulations/coverings and
▪ subordinate wirings or wirings outgoing from engine/carried out by oth-
ers.
What to do when parts are If parts are to be ordered, which are not contained in the Spare Parts Cata-
not found? logue or were not found, please describe part and installation place as
exactly as possible. Send also a digital photo, if necessary. For parts of sub-
suppliers, which are found in their documentation, indicate also the type
plate content. Also observe notes under keyword "Illustration/Allocation of
adjacent parts" at the end of this Section.
Validity/Error sources Spare Parts Catalogues are tailored to the specific engine type. This Spare
Parts Catalogue is applicable only for engine or engine group with factory
number or factory number group indicated on the cover sheet.
Replacement sheets Due to order-specific handling of the Spare Parts Catalogue the further
change management is as a rule not required. Nevertheless, if you will
receive supplementary sheets or replacement sheets, these will have a great
importance. Please observe that supplementary and replacement sheets are
included in all available Spare Parts Catalogues.
Further error sources If, during operation period the engine is subjected to changes, for which
MAN Diesel & Turbo has not made out any new drawings or a relevant spare
part sheet, the engine operator shall himself make a warning note in the
Spare Parts Catalogue. Thus will prevent wrong orders.
Supply of changed parts Due to further development of engines in case of later orders under certain
circumstances the spare parts will be supplied, which are changed in com-
parison to the original ones, and which nevertheless perform the same func-
tion.
Introduction
Sheets of the Spare Parts Catalogue are arranged according to the engine
sub-assembly system. Sub-assembly overview is an integral part of the fol-
lowing section. This overview consists of sectional views and of a table,

Spare parts kits in Spare Parts Catalogue
Components of a spare parts Spare parts kits contain parts packages that have been specially tailored for
kit maintenance or overhaul jobs. The components of a spare parts kit often
include several engine sub-assemblies that can of course also be ordered as
individual parts under the relevant sub-assemblies in the spare parts cata-
logue.
Figure 1: Example of a spare parts kit – set of seals for cylinder head sub-assembly
Available spare parts kits The spare parts kits that are currently available are listed in the final section
of this spare parts catalogue. In addition, information on available spare parts
kits is also provided in the sections of the spare parts catalogue for the rele-
vant sub-assemblies.

kits
▪ All the seals required to carry out maintenance work on the cylinder head
and neighbouring sub-assemblies are supplied in one kit.
▪ Allocation of seals and sealing rings is easier.
▪ Simplified handling, management and storage of spare parts.
Other spare part kits are Other spare parts kits may already be available or can be specially compiled
available on request on request. If you have any questions, feel free to contact our Technical
Service at any time.
