the SAP standard system, storage type 100 and WM movement type 319 has been defined for
material staging
WWPP Interface Steps
1. Maintain production supply area (Tcode : PK05) Production supply areas (PSAs) are used
for material replenishment . The supply area groups work centers near production storage bins
based on the material staging methods. You need to enter the PSA in the work center master
data.
2. Automatic or manual WM material staging during order release Controlled by production
scheduling profile
3. WM movement type for replenishment For a storage type, you determine which WM
movement type is used to transfer the warehouse replenishment for production.
4. Type of picking requirement ("Define Control General") Specify whether the picking
requirement is created as a transfer requirement or a delivery. If we choose delivery creation
here, you need to enter the delivery type and the goods recipient. In the SAP standard system,
there is a default delivery type "WMPP" for this.
5. Activating the PP or PPPI interface with WM
Master data
Production Storage Bins
Production storage bins that are used for material staging are determined by the system based
on the control cycle.
Production workers must pick parts for production only from production storage bins.Otherwise,
discrepancies in stock quantities in WM will result.
The storage bin can be defined as a
● Physical storage bin
● Dynamic storage bin (only for pick parts – production order number)
Creating a Control Cycle
The control cycle record is made up of the plant, production supply area and material and
determines for the WMPP interface the production storage bin and the type of material staging
that is used.
Create control cycles (Tcode : LPK1) by choosing Logistics ® Logistics Execution ® Master
Data ® Warehouse® Production Supply ® Control Cycle Production Supply ® Create
Automatic TO
It that causes the system to create transfer orders automatically from staging TR. To make
changes to the movement types in WM, choose Logistics Execution ® Warehouse Management
® Activities® Transfers ® Define Movement Types in Customizing for Warehouse Management.
Example
Initial stock position before staging
● Created production order
● Released production order
● Initiated WM staging
Production storage bin is been picked from control cycle. If dynamic storage bin is selected in
control cycle then production storage bin is production order number.
● TR created to move the stock to production storage bin
● Convert the TR to TO or as per setting it will be auto converted to TO
The destination is as per the storage bin mentioned in the control cycle
● Confirm the TO
Stock moved to Storage type LIN
Normal IM staging from one storage location to another can be done through MF60 or MIGO (311
movement type).
If the stock is in WM managed Sloc and production storage location is IM managed then also we
can perform the staging through MF60.
Example : WM sloc (stock is in 0088) and prod loc is IM (0004)
Maintained control cycle with staging indicator not relevant for WM
Tcode : MF60 Create Proposal
Stock is moved from WM managed Sloc (0088) to IM managed sloc (0004)
The stock in WM shows pending for putaway
Confirm the transfer order and the putaway is complete.
Example : Both Stock keeping and production are warehouse managed
Control cycle
After the process/production order is released then the WM staging is initiated from MF60 or
LP10. This creates the TR, which needs to convrted to TO and confirmed
