We’re picky about the quality of our images. Here’s a quick but important guide:
‘We believe only the best imagery will do for our Customers hence the quality matters – We prefer only the images that
are photographed well, images that are of good resolution and represent the product accurately’.

Choosing the Right Images:

Primary image is called as the ‘MODEL’ image. This image represents the product image in ‘Search’ or ‘Product Landing Page (PLP)’ image.
Secondary Images are images that depict different sides or show details of the product sold which is not visible in MODEL image or shows any additional info
about item sold. These supplement the primary image and would help boost sales. Example below:
Primary/Main image Secondary images

Here is what we encourage you to keep in mind while creating images –

1. Model v/s Mannequin– All apparels are required to be shot only on models, table top or hanger shots. We advise against using mannequins, ghost
mannequin or pack images for Apparels
2. Product images – While we at AJIO encourage shooting products like Footwear, Jewelry and Bags with models, you may also shoot them without model
3. Lingerie – Lingerie images should not be distasteful or indecent
4. Don’t over-edit – We discourage over-editing of imagery or the model. Retain any natural blemishes on the model or natural creases on the garment.
Avoid adding any watermarks or borders to the images. Collages or images with more than one model are not allowed
5. Clarity of product – Images should show the item being sold clearly. Too many items in the image will confuse customer as to what is on sale and would get
rejected
6. Ownership of imagery – All imagery uploaded to AJIO should be owned by the brand. Stock images or copyright images are not allowed
7. Specific guidelines for image editing – Please refer to specific image editing guidelines in forthcoming pages to ensure quality and consistency of images
8. Garment fitting – Garment should be of good fit – not be too tight or too loose on the model
9. Props or Accessories - Should be minimal and used in a way that it does not distract from the item on sales or cause any customer confusion on what they
would be receiving. Props should not be placed in such a way that they interfere or cover an important view of the product.
10.Assorted Items - For Assorted items there can be no guarantee provided as to what color/shape product customer would receive; hence all the assorted
items can be shown in the first image.

prevent the product from filling majority of image frame

CHECKLIST FOR IMPROVING IMAGE QUALITY

SHADOW
• Maintain certain amount of depth in all images. Do not remove shadows completely as the image will tend to look flat
• Shadow should not be dark, distracting or more evident
CHECKLIST FOR IMPROVING IMAGE QUALITY

MODEL FACE CROPPING

Models should have a professional modelling portfolio and experience. Avoid models that look conventional, non-aspirational and who looks too buff and muscular

If model face does not meet AJIO standard, face cropping would be done from just below base of the nose
CHECKLIST FOR IMPROVING IMAGE QUALITY

HAIR & MAKE-UP

AJIO follows a neutral make-up rule. Most products used are cream based that avoid looking ‘cakey’ on camera. Neutral make-up that involves a basic matte foundation, concealer and blended contouring that
enhances the natural features of the model is encouraged. Avoid harsh lines and extravagant makeup. Go for an even tone. Refer the below images

* Model face which are not as per AJIO standard will be cropped and used in AJIO site
