1. Work in groups and discuss the following questions:
• Have you ever made a difficult decision at work? Share you experience
Well, for the moment I have not faced any situation that implies making a difficult decision,
usually they are carried out in groups, and the one who has the last word is the boss.
• Will you be taking risks in your future professional life? Give examples of some of
those risks.
Yes, I will face one, for example, if I find a job in another country, it implies leaving your
family and your current life to follow a new path.
• Did you have a good work environment in your first job? Share your experience, if
you don’t have any experience explain what the ideal characteristics would be to keep
a good work environment.
Not really, it was very toxic, I think that what a good work environment implies is
communication, teamwork, and that there are no hypocritical people who damage the work
team, much less competitiveness in the positions.

2. Individual work: Problem solving vs risk assessment

• Do you agree or disagree with the statement of the image? Explain your answer

Yes, because risk management is a formal way of acting when a company has a financial problem, for
example, because they have a plan to combat risks, and problem solving can even be a person who
solves short problems in the company as problems between colleagues and so on.

• What do you understand for risk management?

When a financial problem is evaluated and analyzed in a company, and actions must be taken that
help to solve them or what risks are there if you do not act quickly.

• How do you think risk assessment impacts the problem-solving processes?

I think it affects the actions that should be taken, and if they are feasible or not, like cutting staff if
there is a financial crisis, if legal action is taken for X situation, and how it can influence the future of
the company.
Look for the following expressions and classify them into the concepts you consider they are most
related to.

It is the environment in which the employee lives every day at work, the people with whom he
works, the attitudes and the good treatment of others towards him.

⦁How do you relationships should be at work?

I must interact with others with respect, be professional and be polite, you don't know what people
you will meet at work.

⦁What do you prefer when there’s an issue at work, notify to your boss or remain silent?

It depends, if the problem involves me, I would first tell a trusted colleague to guide me what to do,
and then tell the boss with more confidence.

According to the text, watch the picture and describe the relationship between risk management
and problem solving. Provide some personal examples, based on your experience.

The relationship that both have is that they start from a situation or problem, where each one has its
way of solving and analyzing itself, the risk management part is broader, since a plan must be carried
out to prevent risks, and problem solving is more solve a problem that did not turn out as expected,
and you must act soon, but both have phases, actions that must be taken, where they must start
from to solve the problem, and so on.
