7. Kulintang is a traditional Minahasan percussion

instrument from North Sulawesi Indonesia, consisting
of wooden blades arranged in a row and mounted on a
wooden tub. Kulintang is usually played in ensemble
music. Kulintang in the Minahasan community is used to accompany traditional
ceremonies, dance, singing, and music. The wood used to make Kolintang blades is
light but strong local wood such as Telur wood, Wenuang wood, Cempaka wood,
Waru wood, and the like, which have a fiber construction. Meanwhile, kulintang
resonator crates are usually made of hardwood materials such as teak or mahogany.
To play Kulintang, all we need to do is struck the wood/gong with a unique beater.
Size of wood will determine the pitch generated. The smaller the wood the higher the
pitch so wood 1 in the picture will have the highest pitch of the instrument.

Sketch sound wave of wood number 10 that is struck with stronger force!
