PANCOVER 4730

DESCRIPTION

Powder fully water soluble It is a balanced mixture composed by synthetic salts and organic
additives.
It contains borax as component.

USE AND APPLICATION

PANCOVER 4730 is suitable for pre-coating of steel wire and stainless steel, for further
drawing or cold heading operations.

PROPERTIES

The coating has these properties:

* low hygroscopicity
* absence of chloride -
* exceptional adhesion to the metallic surface

* high performance as lubricant carrier

* easy removal by water degreasing.

Bath prepared with PANCOVER 4730 has these properties :

* no corrosion and no environmental pollution

* rapid valuation of concentration by the refractometer.
* absence of sludge.

MODALITIES

CONCENTRATION 20% (weight/volume) 200 g/l (T = over 90°C)

- high speed drawing - heavy duty cold heading

CONCENTRATION 10-12% 100-200 g/l (T = 85°C)

- bar drawing
- skin pass after annealing
- neutralising after phosphate coating

PANCOVER 4730

GENERAL INFORMATION

1. CARBON STEEL
PANCOVER 4730 can be used either on low or high carbon steel. To be applied in line to
the drawing machine or in batch. The function is to improve the lubrication for highest
speeds.

2. STAINLESS STEEL
PANCOVER 4730 can be used either on stainless steel wire rod (treatment in coil or in-line
to the drawing), on intermediate wires, after annealing and for steel wire.
It can be used in batch or in line to heat treatment.

CONCENTRATION by Refractometer (°BRIX)

It is easy to evaluate the concentration by means of an hand refractometer.
To obtain PANCOVER 4730 percentage into the bath you have to multiply refractometer
reading by 1,25 factor at 90°C.
To obtain the concentration value in grams/litres you have to multiply the refractometer
reading by 12.5 factor at 90°C.
