• DEATH PENALTY

I agree with death penalty as long as the persons or criminals being punished with this penalty have done
unforgivable crimes such as murder, homicide, or rape. This penalty represents a just retribution for crimes that
are inhumane. People that have done NUMEROUS killings, rape, and such have no chances of change.
Therefore, these people should be sentenced to death penalty.

• BIRTH CONTROL
I am pro-choice. I agree with birth control. Birth controls allow people, especially women, to have a choice for
their body, their desire, and their life. Birth controls are specifically famous to women since women bear
babies. In a world where overpopulation and poverty becomes an issue, and sex being popular to teens, birth
control is a remedy. Babies are expensive, let’s admit it; but, doing the deed has an inevitable consequence of
bearing a baby. With birth control, unwanted babies are born. Birth control reduces the rate of unintended
pregnancies, unsafe abortion, and STD transmission. All in all, birth control means having an intercourse with
someone responsibly.

• ABORTION
Abortion and Birth Control are somewhat associated. Both are deemed immoral but I disagree with these
claims, for certain grounds. Abortion allows women to decide what she sees is applicable for herself. Birth
controls are not always effective, and thus, many women resort to abortion. Abortion reduces the perceived
effects of unwanted or mistimed pregnancies. The right to choose abortion is essential to ensuring a woman
can decide for herself if, when, and with whom to start or grow a family. I agree with the idea of abortion if the
pregnancy risks significant effects on the physical health, mental, or emotional state of the woman, or if the
causes of pregnancy are rape or incest, or if the woman is mentally and cognitively disabled which considers
no apparent and visible ability to raise a child, or if the fetus had developed without life-sustaining organs.

• JUVENILES SHOULD BE TRIED AND TREATED AS ADULTS (AGE 17 AND BELOW)

I agree with this statement because even though they are young, they have committed crimes; and being
young gives them the privilege to currently avoid punishment even with the crimes they have done. Juveniles
should be tried and treated as adults so that lesser future crimes are executed. Charging ages 17 and below
juveniles as grown-ups would discipline these young offenders and would protect the people from future violent
crimes. This idea could be a wakeup call to everyone that crimes are crimes; illegal doings are illegal doings,
no matter the age and status.

• SEX WORK SHOULD BE LEGAL

I disagree with this. Legalizing sex work increases the rate of sexually transmitted diseases, human trafficking,
and violent crime including rape and homicide. Sex work can also be considered as sexual harassment,
exploitation, and often torture. Sex work creates an illusion that it is a voluntary and desirable occupation.

• MARIJUANA SHOULD BE LEGALIZED

Marijuana is an herbal medicine but people often abuse the effects of this plant. Marijuana became a drug that
results to undesirable consequences. Thus, these should not be legalized.

• A COLLEGE DEGREE IS ESSENTIAL FOR GETTING A GOOD JOB

I disagree with this. College degree should not be a requirement for getting a good job. Although educational
background plays a part, it is not what makes an employee good. There are applicants that possess the skills
and qualifications but do not have a college degree. In the Philippines, job qualifications are so high but the
minimum salary is so low.

• ROTC SHOULD BE MANDATORY FOR EVERYONE

I agree with this, especially for ages 18-20, for both boys and girls. ROTC has benefits such as it allows
students to have self-defense knowledge.

• Military Service should be mandatory for ages 21 years old

I agree with this. This allows the country to have a preparation just in case an unwanted war between countries
breaks out.

• Churches should pay taxes.

I disagree with this. Priests don’t have salary and the church is not a profit-generating institution. The donations
made by the people are then allocated for foods, scholarships, and projects.
