PREFERENCES

There are 4 ways of Preferences :

1. S + LIKE + N/V-ing + BETTER THAN + N/V-ing


MORE THAN

2. S + PREFER + N/V-ing + TO + N/V-ing

3. S + WOULD RATHER + INFINITIVE (V1) + THAN + INFINITIVE (V1)


‘d rather

4. S + WOULD PREFER + TO – INFINITIVE ( TO V1) + RATHER THAN + INFINITIVE (V1)


‘d prefer

Example :

1. I like studying better than watching TV


2. He prefers apple to banana
3. She would rather read than write
4. I’d prefer to go home rather than stay here

15. He speaks English. He seldom speaks German. (would prefer)
16. John eats pizza a lot. He sometimes eats spaggetti. (would rather)
17. Yanti usually goes to the mountain in holiday. She rarely goes to beach. (like)
18. Mother buys a lot of carrot. She buys some chilies. (prefer)
19. I make some small table. I don’t make big table. (like)
20. Randy always goes to mosque. He seldom goes to mall. (would rather)
