MEMBERSHIP
Qualifications
a. Duly registered and licensed Pharmacist;
b. Involved in the regulatory practice of the pharmacy profession in industries relating to
pharmaceuticals, food, cosmetics, medical devices & diagnostics, and veterinary products;
c. Agrees to bind himself under the bylaws and to all rules and regulations of the Association; and
d. Not convicted by a court of competent jurisdiction of any violation.
Classification
a. Company Member – a Pharmacist who is employed and designated by a SEC- or FDA-
registered company as a representative to the Association. A company member has the right to
participate in all activities of the Association, to vote and be voted upon to the Board or to any
other office of the Association, and to participate in the consideration of any issues or matters
placed before the membership for decision.
b. Individual member - a Pharmacist who is employed in a pharmaceutical company and making
individual representation in the absence of his company’s endorsement. An individual member
has the right to participate in all activities of the Association, to vote and be voted upon to the
Board or to any other office of the Association, and to participate in the consideration of any
issues or matters placed before the membership for decision.
c. Lifetime member – must be at least 60 years old, a member of good standing for at least ten
(10) years and has paid the lifetime membership fee. A lifetime member cannot vote and be voted
upon to the Board or to any other office of the Association. He can vote on matters submitted for
decision as determined by the Board of Trustees in Annual Members, General Membership and
Special Meetings.
All applications for membership to the Association are subject to the approval of the Board of
Trustees. The applicant will be informed of the approval of his application. Membership will be
effective upon payment of the assessed membership fee and upon taking the Oath of
Membership.
Duties and Responsibilities
a. To abide by the bylaws, rules, and regulations that may be promulgated by the Association
from time to time;
b. To attend meetings and actively participate in the undertakings of the Association;
c. To uphold the Code of Ethics of the Association; and
d. To pay membership dues and other assessments by the Association.
Membership Rights
a. To exercise the right to vote on all matters relating to the affairs of the Association, as
applicable;
b. To be eligible to any elective office of the Association, as applicable;
c. To be eligible to any appointive office of the Association, as applicable;
d. To be informed of and to participate in all deliberations/meetings of the Association;
e. To avail of all the facilities of the Association; and
f. To examine all records or books of the Association during business hours.
Voting Power
All company and individual members in good standing shall be allowed to vote in all general
elections, provided that such member has no outstanding association dues (membership, Annual
Members, General Membership & Special Meeting fees, and all other dues) by December 31st of
each year.
Resignation or Termination of Membership
A member who leaves a company must inform the Association in writing at least two (2) weeks
before the end of his employment and must ensure payment of all outstanding dues of the
company before the end of his employment. A member who leaves a company and is employed
by another company or who intends to be an individual or lifetime member shall submit the
corresponding application for membership to the Association. He shall pay the initial registration
or lifetime membership fee. Any member who wishes to terminate his membership shall likewise
inform the Association in writing within one (1) month from the effectivity of the termination and
ensure payment of all outstanding dues, if any.
