Title: Convergence of High Performance Computing and Big Data Through an Energy

Efficiency Perspective

Abstract

The convergence of High Performance Computing (HPC) and Big Data is an important
research area that has the potential to revolutionize the way that data is processed and
analyzed. This paper proposes an energy efficiency perspective on the convergence of HPC
and Big Data, with a focus on the use of energy efficient technologies and techniques to
improve the performance of HPC and Big Data systems. The paper will review current
research in the area and discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with energy
efficiency in HPC and Big Data systems. Finally, the paper will provide a set of
recommendations for future research and development in this area.

Introduction

The convergence of High Performance Computing (HPC) and Big Data has become an
increasingly important research area, as the need for faster and more efficient data
processing and analysis grows. HPC systems are used to process large amounts of data
quickly and accurately, while Big Data systems are used to store and analyze large amounts
of data in a distributed manner. The convergence of these two technologies has the
potential to revolutionize the way that data is processed and analyzed, and can provide
significant benefits in terms of cost, performance, and scalability.

However, the convergence of HPC and Big Data also presents a number of challenges,
particularly in terms of energy efficiency. HPC and Big Data systems are often energy-
intensive, and the use of energy-efficient technologies and techniques can help to reduce
the energy consumption of these systems. This paper proposes an energy efficiency
perspective on the convergence of HPC and Big Data, with a focus on the use of energy
efficient technologies and techniques to improve the performance of HPC and Big Data
systems.

Literature Review

The literature review will focus on the current research in the area of energy efficiency in
HPC and Big Data systems. This will include a review of existing research on the use of
energy efficient technologies and techniques in HPC and Big Data systems, as well as a
review of existing research on the challenges and opportunities associated with energy
efficiency in HPC and Big Data systems.

Conclusion

The convergence of High Performance Computing (HPC) and Big Data is an important
research area that has the potential to revolutionize the way that data is processed and
analyzed. This paper has proposed an energy efficiency perspective on the convergence of
HPC and Big Data, with a focus on the use of energy efficient technologies and techniques to
improve the performance of HPC and Big Data systems. The paper has reviewed current
research in the area and discussed the challenges and opportunities associated with energy
efficiency in HPC and Big Data systems. Finally, the paper has provided a set of
recommendations for future research and development in this area.
