13. Assertion: Flower of Brinjal is actinomorphic.
Reason: Actinomorphic flower can be divided into two equal halves only in a particular
vertical plane of division.
14. Assertion: Photosynthesis is an essential life process of plants.
Reason: Small plants growing in forest are adapted to other process than photosynthesis
because they are over-shadowed by tall canopied trees.
15. Assertion: Nucleotides are building blocks of Nucleic Acid.
Reason: Nucleotides polymerizes to form DNA and RNA.

29. Algae are diverse group of aquatic organisms that have the ability to conduct
photosynthesis. They are unicellular or multicellular and undifferentiated organisms that
occur in variety of forms and sizes. Algae belong to a polyphyletic group, i.e. the
organisms of this group are not necessarily related to each other. Based on the pigment,
composition and reserved food material, algae has been divided into three major classes,
viz. Chlorophyceae, Phaeophyceae and Rhodophyceae. The members of these classes
also differ in cell wall composition, stored food material, body structure, mode of
reproduction, etc.

30. Excretion is a process in which metabolic waste is eliminated from an organism. In
vertebrates this is primarily carried out by the lungs, kidneys and skin. Aquatic
animals usually excrete ammonia directly into the external environment. In terrestrial
animals ammonia-like compounds are converted into other less toxic nitrogenous
materials. The excreted material may be called ejecta.

waste?
