DISCUSSION 2

While I was reading their responses, I felt a little comfort because I learned that I am not the
only who’s struggling with Math subject. Before I enrolled in UP, I really thought that everyone should
excel in every academic aspect. Now, I learned that even if you hate that subject for as long as you keep
pushing yourself, that is beyond okay already given that you have fear in taking that subject. And there
were responses also saying that Math is their favorite subject. Well, I am happy for them because they
can keep up with different mathematical problems. And they said also that even if it’s difficult, they
enjoy it. So, I can say now that the common ground in this one is that math really needs extra effort and
some skills. Maybe, I just need more and more time in order for me to have that kind of specific skill.

No doubt that Math is not an easy course. There are many factors to be considered why many
students have a strong dislike in this subject, same goes to those students who like Math. Some of my
classmates said that they hated it because of the approach of their teachers before and the way they
taught it. And as a result, they developed a fear in that subject and a sense of not liking it anymore.
Through that, I can say that the style of teaching can really affect one’s performance in school.

In conclusion, Math may not be everyone’s favorite subject (just like me) but as what they say
everything can be learned if you give time for that problem. It’s just a matter of how patient you are in
learning that subject. Since we are already here taking this course, I hope we can lend a hand if some of
our classmates need help. And let’s just enjoy this journey!
