2 BUT / PURPOSE
Le but de ce document technique est de servir de référence en
définissant :
- les produits standards généralement employés pour le
nettoyage, la protection, l’emballage, le levage et l’arrimage
des pièces ;
- la technique généralement utilisée pour la construction des
caisses et plates-formes d’expédition.
3 DOMAINE D’APPLICATION / SCOPE
Ce document s’applique à toutes les pièces. Elles doivent être
nettoyées, protégées et emballées pour être expédiées et
possiblement entreposées.
Les spécifications particulières du client ou celles du
département d’ingénierie prévaudront ou seront
complémentaires aux spécifications décrites dans le présent
document.
Les arbres turbine et alternateurs, le croisillon rotor, les tôles
de jantes, les pôles, les goujons d’accouplement, la carcasse, le
croisillon supérieur/inférieur, les patins, le grain mobile, la
tuyauterie ainsi que l’ensemble assise et membranes…
possèdent des instructions complémentaires à ce document
pour leur protection et emballage. Voir le tableau en annexe D.
En cas de doute sur une pièce particulière, contacter
l’ingénierie de GE.
Dans le cas des équipements électriques et auxiliaires (ex :
boîtes de jonction, armoires, postes de vannage, …). Voir
section spécifique.
4 RESPONSABILITÉS / RESPONSIBILITIES
L'ingénierie de GE est responsable de la rédaction et de
l'émission des spécifications techniques relatives à l'activité
susmentionnée.
Le département d’ingénierie doit être avisé de tous problèmes
rencontrés lors de la mise en œuvre de la protection et de
l’emballage.
Le sous-traitant est responsable du conditionnement du
matériel sur la base du présent document émanant de GE
Énergies Renouvelables, Hydro.
Le sous-traitant peut proposer une méthode alternative pour
la protection et l’emballage du matériel avec l’accord de GE. Le
sous-traitant utilisant une méthode alternative demeure

PURPOSE
The purpose of this technical document is to define:
− the standard products generally employed for the cleaning,
protection, packaging, lifting and lashing of parts;
− the technique generally employed for the construction of
shipping crates and platforms.
SCOPE
This document is applicable to all parts that must be cleaned,
protected and packaged to be shipped and possibly stored.
The particular client specifications or those of the engineering
department take precedence over or will be complementary to
the specifications described in the present document.
The turbine and generator shafts, rotor spider, rotor rim plates,
poles, coupling studs, stator frame, upper/lower bracket, pads,
thrust runner, the piping and, membranes, bed plate
assembly… have additional information for their protection
and packing. See table at appendix D. In case of doubt on a
particular part, contact the Engineering Department of GE.
For electrical equipment and auxiliaries (ex: junction boxes,
cubicles, valves panel,…). See specific section.
RESPONSIBILITIES
GE Engineering is responsible for the writing and issuance of
technical specifications related to the above noted activity.
The engineering department must be advised of any problems
encountered during protection and packaging activities.
The sub-contractor is responsible for conditioning materials
based on the present document issued by GE Renewable
Power, Hydro.
The sub-contractor can recommend an alternative method for
protecting and packaging of the material with the agreement
of GE. The sub-contractor who does this remains responsible

responsable des dommages pouvant être causés au matériel
lors de sa manutention, de son transport et pendant son
entreposage. L’approbation de GE ne réduit en rien la
responsabilité du sous-traitant.
Le sous-traitant a la responsabilité de protéger
temporairement la pièce pendant la fabrication (arrêt, inter-
opération, mouvements interne …)
Le sous-traitant a la responsabilité des opérations d’emballage,
levage et arrimage. Dans ce cadre il doit fournir à GE la
documentation associée (ex : Plan de levage, plan d’arrimage,
note de calcul…).
Le sous-traitant a la responsabilité de s’assurer de posséder la
dernière version de ce document.
5 5 REGLES OBLIGATOIRES / 5 5 MANDATORY RULES
MANDATORY RULES
1/ Les 4 opérations décrites dans cette procédure, emballage –
levage – arrimage – stockage, doivent être réalisées par des
professionnels habilités par les experts de GE (Liste en annexe
E).
2/ 100% de conformité avec les législations internationales et
locales en prenant en compte le lieu de départ et d’arrivé.
3/ 100% concernant l’intégrité du produit (0% corrosion, 0%
déformation, 0% choc). Toutes les parties de pièce usinées et
non peintes sont recouvertes d’une protection anti-corrosion.
Les composants seront protégés des contacts avec les
accessoires de levage et d’arrimage pour éviter une
détérioration de l’un ou l’autre.
4/ Les règles minimum à appliquer sont celles de cette
procédure ainsi que le code CTU de l’organisation maritime
internationale (code CTU:
https://www.imo.org/en/OurWork/Safety/Pages/CTU-
Code.aspx ).
Elles sont complétées par les procédures spécifiques (liste en
annexe D).
5/ Les opérations d’emballage et d’arrimage doivent être
documentées, étape par étape, par des photos envoyées au
demandeur pour autoriser l’expédition.
Le non-respect de ces 5 règles entrainera un recours de GE
pour obtenir une indemnisation intégrale du préjudice subi.

This remains true even when GE has approved the alternative
method.
The sub-contractor is responsible for temporarily protecting
the part during fabrication (stoppage, inter-operation, internal
movements…)
The subcontractor is responsible for packing, lifting and lashing
operations. In this context, he must provide GE with the
associated documentation (eg: Lifting plan, lashing plan,
calculation note, etc.).
The sub-contractor is responsible for keeping the latest version
of this document.
1/ The 4 operations of this procedure, packing - lifting - lashing
- storage, must be carried out by professionals authorized by
GE experts (List in appendix E).
2/ 100% compliance with international and local legislation
considering the place of departure and place of arrival.
3/ 100% product integrity (0% corrosion, 0% deformation, 0%
shock). All machined and unpainted parts are covered with
anticorrosion protection. Components will be protected from
contact with lifting and lashing accessories to avoid
deterioration of one or the other.
4/ The minimum rules applying are those of this procedure and
the CTU code of the International Maritime Organization (CTU
code:
https://www.imo.org/en/OurWork/Safety/Pages/CTU-
Code.aspx ).
They are supplemented by any specific procedures (List in
appendix D).
5/ Packing and lashing operations must be documented, step
by step, by photos sent to the claimant to authorize the
shipment.
Failure to comply with these 5 rules will result in GE's recourse
to obtain full compensation for the damage suffered.

6 NETTOYAGE / CLEANING
Les produits doivent être validés par le service EHS.
6.1 PROCÉDURE DE NETTOYAGE / CLEANING CLEANING PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
Toutes les pièces fabriquées ou usinées doivent d'abord être
nettoyées à l'aide de balais, brosses, chiffons, afin d'éliminer
tous corps étrangers, poussière ou autres ainsi que toutes les
traces d’huile ou de graisse.
Après nettoyage, toutes les surfaces où il y a rouille ou
apparence de rouille, seront nettoyées à l'aide de pierre ponce
ou de papier émeri doux. Par la suite, il faut nettoyer ces
surfaces au solvant. Toutefois, cette action est sujette à
l’approbation de l’ingénierie de GE.
6.2 PRODUITS DE NETTOYAGE / CLEANING CLEANING PRODUCTS
PRODUCTS
Pour le nettoyage des composants plusieurs méthodes et
produits sont couramment utilisés, vous les retrouvez en
annexe F:
- Nettoyage à pression avec vapeur
- Nettoyage avec brosse ou chiffon (solvant).
- Nettoyage avec brosse ou chiffon (produit à dilution).
IMPORTANT
Les pièces encastrées en contact avec le béton ne doivent pas
être protégées. Celles-ci peuvent inclure des supports, vérins,
ancrages qui seront installés en permanence dans le béton. En
cas de doute, contacter l’ingénierie.

CLEANING
Products must be validated by the EHS department.
All fabricated or machined parts must first be cleaned using
brooms, brushes, rags, in order to eliminate any foreign bodies,
dust or other contaminants as well as all traces of oil or grease.
After cleaning, any surfaces that are rusted or have the
appearance of rust will be cleaned using a pumice stone or fine
emery paper. The surfaces must then be cleaned again using
solvent. However, this procedure is subject to approval by GE
engineering.
For the cleaning of the components several methods and
products are commonly used, you will find them in the
appendix F:
- Steam pressure cleaning
- Cleaning with brush or rag (solvent).
- Cleaning with brush or rag (dilution product).
IMPORTANT
The embedded parts in contact with concrete shall not be
protected. These can include supports, jacks, anchor to be
installed permanently in the concrete. In case of doubt, contact
the Engineering Department.

7 STOCKAGE, EXIGENCES GE/ STORAGE, GE STORAGE, GE REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS
Les disques de couleur sont peints directement sur l’emballage.
● CLASSE A Disque rouge → stockage dans un bâtiment fermé
et climatisé avec des températures qui ne doivent pas
descendre en dessous de + 5 °C et ne pas dépasser + 35 °C.
● CLASSE B Disque noir → stockage dans un bâtiment fermé et
sec (bien ventilé).
● CLASSE C Disque bleu → stockage dans une zone abritée à
l'abri de l'eau et de la poussière, matériel posé sur des palettes
en bois.
● CLASSE D Disque vert → stockage dans un parc de stockage,
sol sec, équipement posé sur des palettes en bois (protégé
contre les dommages mécaniques).
● CLASSE E F G → à définir par le projet, si besoin
● CLASSE H Cercle orange → stockage de matières
dangereuses / dangereuses (peinture, gaz, huile, agents
d'ancrage chimiques, etc.) dans des pièces bien ventilées et à
l'écart des autres matières.
Sur bac de rétention, pour éviter la pollution en cas de
fuite ou de déversement.
Doit respecter la directive spécifique spécifiée sur la
fiche de données de sécurité.
Doit respecter les instructions d'incompatibilité de
stockage.
Si le client a besoin de diviser les différentes pièces par unité,
le numéro de l'unité sera placé au centre du cercle, par
exemple : ❶
Si la marchandise stockée est une pièce de rechange, ajoutez la
marque « R » sur le cercle coloré pour la différencier des autres
pièces.

types de produits selon le lieu et la durée de stockage. La liste
des produits se trouve en annexe G.

● CLASS A Red circle → storage in an air-conditioned enclosed
building with temperatures that must not drop below +5°C and
must not exceed +35°C.
● CLASS B Black circle → storage in a dry enclosed building
(well ventilated).
● CLASS C Blue circle → storage in a sheltered area protected
from water and dust, equipment placed on wooden pallets.
● CLASS D Green circle → storage in a storage park, dry ground,
equipment placed on wooden pallets (protected against
mechanical damage).
● CLASS E F G → to be defined by project, if needed
● CLASS H Orange circle → storage of hazardous/dangerous
material (paint, gas, oil, chemical anchors, etc.) in well
ventilated rooms and apart from other material.
On tank retention, to avoid pollution in case of
leakage or spill.
Must respect the specific directive specified on the

If the client requires splitting the different parts by unit, the

11.1 CONSTRUCTION DES CAISSES / MANUFACTURING OF SHIPPING CRATES
MANUFACTURING OF SHIPPING CRATES
Les caisses d'expédition peuvent être fabriquées de différents
composants selon le poids, dimensions, géométrie de la pièce,
ex : contreplaqué, madrier, etc. Le détail des modèles de boîte
est disponible à l’Annexe B. Le contact direct entre un
composant et du bois est strictement interdit.
IMPORTANT
Dans le cas où le poids des composants dépasse 4535 kg/ 10
000 lbs, le fournisseur devra proposer une conception de
support adéquate à GE avant emballage.
En général, les caisses d'expédition seront assemblées avec des
clous vrillés ou vis. Aucune pointe ou tête de clou ne doit
dépasser des parois intérieures de façon à perforer l'emballage
ou endommager les pièces. Dans tous les cas les couvercles
doivent être fixés par des vis.
Les caisses doivent être munies de semelles au droit de chaque
renfort. Les semelles doivent être rainurées (19 ou 32 mm) sur
une face pour maintenir la courroie de métal (feuillard).
En conclusion, une caisse en bois ou autre doit :
- Maintenir et résister aux efforts du chargement
soumis aux accélérations de transport (code CTU),
- Résister aux efforts induits par les élingues de levage
(angle β),
- Résister aux efforts d’arrimage induit par les
accélérations (code CTU) et les efforts induits par les
élingues d’arrimage (angle α et β).
Chaque zone de la caisse en contact avec la pièce, les élingues
ou les calages doit présenter des renforts adaptés.

The most commonly used packaging products can be found in
Appendix H
Shipping crates can be fabricated from different components
depending on the weight, dimensions, geometry of the part,
i.e. plywood, planking, etc. Details of model crates are shown
in Appendix B. Direct contact between a component and wood
is strictly prohibited.
IMPORTANT
If the weight of the components is over 4535 kg / 10 000 lbs,
the supplier is responsible to propose an adequate support
design to GE before packing.
In general, shipping crates will be assembled using spiral nails
or screws. Nail heads or points must not protrude beyond the
interior walls to avoid perforating the packaging or damaging
the parts. In all cases the covers must be fixed by screws.
The crates must be equipped with skids at the corners of each
reinforcing element. The skids must be grooved (19 or 32 mm)
on one face to accommodate the metal strapping (strip).
In conclusion, a wooden crate or other must:
- Maintain and resist the loading forces subjected to
transport accelerations (CTU code),
- Resist the forces induced by the lifting slings (angle
β),
- Resist the lashing forces induced by accelerations
(CTU code) and the forces induced by the lashing slings (angle
α and β).
Each area of the crate in contact with the part, slings or wedges
must have suitable reinforcements.

PACKAGING PROCEDURE
12.1 STANDARD / STANDARD
Note : Les pièces doivent être emballées par unité
(Ex. : 3-unités = 3-boîtes minimum
Utiliser : Caisse ou plate-forme, tel que recommandé à
l’Annexe-B.
Pour une caisse :
Il faut recouvrir complètement l'intérieur de la caisse avec du
papier coupe vapeur, agrafé à la boîte.
Avant de déposer les pièces dans la caisse, il faut s’assurer que
toutes les surfaces d’acier usinées seront recouvertes d’une
huile légère ou l’équivalent et d’un papier ciré (annexe G)
La caisse sera alors remplie en prenant soin de bien caler les
pièces ou les groupes de pièces. De plus, s’il reste un espace
sous le couvercle, il faut le combler au besoin par calage. Le
matériel de calage doit être isolé de la pièce usinée, par un
papier ciré.
Ajouter un polythène avant de fermer le couvercle. Le
polythène doit déborder de 100 mm sur tout le contour de la
caisse pour être étiré et agrafé.
12.1.1 Quincaillerie / Hardware
Les composantes dites de quincaillerie sont sans s’y limiter :
boulons, écrous, rondelles, tôles freins, soupapes,
composantes électriques….
Il y a 2 possibilités concernant l’emballage et l’expédition de la
quincaillerie :
1. Expédition directement au site
Si le bon de commande indique d’expédier directement au site,
la règle générale est que tous les items doivent être dans des
caisses de bois. Une consolidation est à faire par le fournisseur.
Les cas d’exception sont possibles et doivent être revus avec
l’acheteur et le représentant qualité. Par exemple, l’expédition
d’une boite de vis en urgence sur un site peut être faite sans
emballage supplémentaire.

STANDARD
Note: Parts must be individually packaged
(ex.: 3-units = 3-crates minimum).
Use: crate or platform, as recommended in Appendix-B.
For a crate:
The whole crate interior must be covered with vapor barrier
paper stapled to the crate.
Before placing the parts in the crate, all machined steel
surfaces must be coated with a light oil or equivalent and a
waxed paper (Appendix G).
The crate will then be filled, taking care to secure the parts or
groups of parts. In addition, if there is empty space remaining
under the cover, this space must be filled using packing as
required. The packing material must be separated from the
machined part by means of a waxed paper.
Add a sheet of polythene before closing the cover. The
polythene must exceed the entire contour of the crate by at
least 100mm so that it can be drawn out and stapled
Hardware
The parts referred to as hardware include without limitation:
bolts, nuts, washers, locking sheets, valves, electrical
components...
There are 2 possibilities regarding packing and shipping of
hardware:
1. Shipping directly to site
If the purchase order requires to ship directly to site, the
general rule is that all items shall be in wooden boxes. The
supplier is responsible to consolidate the parts before packing.
Exceptions are possible and shall be reviewed with the buyer
and quality representative. For example, the shipping of a box
of screws in emergency to site can be done without
supplementary packing.

IMPORTANT

2. Expédition à un tiers pour consolidation
Si le bon de commande indique une adresse intermédiaire, à ce
moment la méthode d’emballage générale ne s’applique pas.
Lorsque la masse nette est inférieure à 10 kg, le fournisseur
peut utiliser des boites de carton. Il doit protéger et identifier
les composantes avant de les expédier au lieu de consolidation,
déterminé par GE.
L’emballage dans des caisses de bois pour expédition finale se
fera au lieu de consolidation.

It is possible to ship other items in cardboard boxes depending
on the emergency, type of transportation and location of the
site. This shall be validated with the procurement and/or
quality department before proceeding.
2. Shipping to a third party for consolidation
If the purchase order indicates an intermediate address, the
general packing method is not applicable. When the net weight
is under 10 kg, the supplier can use cardboard boxes. He must
apply protection and identify the parts before shipping to the
third party, determined by GE.
Packing in wooden boxes for the final shipping will be done at
the consolidation location.

À la procédure d’emballage standard on doit ajouter à la caisse
sur 2 faces adjacentes et le couvercle le pictogramme
correspondant au produit. S’il y a plusieurs produits dangereux
dans une même caisse, on applique seulement le pictogramme
du produit le plus dangereux. Toutefois, on doit ajouter dans
une enveloppe étanche et agrafer à l’extérieur de la caisse la
fiche signalétique de chacun des produits dangereux se
trouvant à l’intérieur de la caisse.
Toutefois, pour l’expédition par avion, l’emballage doit être
réalisé par une firme spécialisée. Contacter le département de

Les règlements concernant les matériaux d’emballage de bois,
incluant les pièces de bois d’arrimage, palettes et autres
matériaux d’emballage non transformé ou traité, entrant au
Canada et provenant de différentes origines, à l’exception des
Etats-Unis, sont en application dès le 16 septembre 2005.
Les matériaux d’emballage en bois arrivant au Canada doivent
avoir été séchés au séchoir ou fumigés utilisant le bromure de
méthyle (interdit en Europe). Les matériaux d’emballage en
bois qui ont été traités devront être identifiés par un symbole
reconnu universellement selon les recommandations de ISPM
15 ou par un autre symbole reconnu par ACIA. La politique ACIA

The products are, among others: paint, varnish, resin, acetone,
hardener, catalyst, accelerator, etc.
As per the standard packaging procedure, a pictogram
corresponding to the product must be affixed to 2 adjacent
side faces and top face of the crate. If there are several
dangerous products in the same crate, only the pictogram for
the most dangerous product is affixed. Nevertheless, a
waterproof envelope containing the description of each of the
dangerous products found in the crate must be stapled to the
exterior of the crate.
However, packaging must be done by a specialized firm for air
shipments. Contact the logistics and transport Department.
HNA: Particular case
CFIA enforces wood packaging requirements
The new requirements for entry of all wood packing materials
including dunnage, pallets or crating made from non-
manufactured wood, entering Canada from all areas, except
the continental United States, came into force on September
16, 2005.
Wood packaging arriving in Canada shall either be head treated
of fumigated using methyl bromide (forbidden in Europe). The
treated wood packaging should be marked with a universally
recognized symbol as that recommended in the ISPM 15
guidelines, or another mark approved by CFIA. The CFIA policy
directive can be found on the CFIA web site, at:

Tous les matériaux incluant le bois de saisissage et d’arrimage
devront être conformes car l’ACIA pourra refuser la fumigation
des matériaux au Canada et forcer le retour des matériaux dans
leur pays d’origine.
12.2 OUTRE-MER / OVERSEA
Ce type d’emballage nécessite en plus du standard, les soins
particuliers suivants :
- Les caisses en bois doivent être entièrement fumigées avec
un insecticide (ex : Dragnet).
Note 1 : Le produit utilisé doit être accepté par le client final.
Avant de déposer les pièces dans la caisse, il faut s’assurer
que toutes les surfaces d’acier usinées seront recouvertes
d’une huile visqueuse ou l’équivalent.
De plus, un papier ciré fibreux devra séparer ou envelopper
les pièces de métal.
12.3 OUTRE-MER (SOUS-VIDE) / OVERSEAS OVERSEAS (VACCUM-PACKED)
(VACCUM-PACKED)
Outils requis :
- Aspirateur avec tuyau flexible et bec d’aspiration.
- Fer à sceller (sac d’aluminium), ex : James Dawson.
Ce type d’emballage nécessite en plus les soins particuliers
suivants :
À l'aide de mousse de polyéthylène ¼” / 6.35mm, protéger le
fond de la caisse.
Fabriquer un sac en aluminium (par soudure) suivant les
dimensions intérieures de la caisse et insérer celui-ci dans la
caisse. Cette opération nécessite l’utilisation d’un fer à ruban
chauffé (ex : James Dawson).
La caisse d'expédition sera alors remplie en prenant soin de ne
pas endommager l’enveloppe d'aluminium.
Il faut inclure dans l'emballage le déshydratant en quantité
suffisante selon les préconisations du fabriquant :
Note 1 : Une unité de dessiccant réfère à sa capacité de
séchage. Une unité est la quantité de produit qui est en mesure
d’absorber au moins 3 grammes de vapeur d’eau à 20 %
d’humidité relative et au moins 6 grammes de vapeur d’eau à
40 % d’humidité relative à 25oC (77oF).
Note 2 : GE préfère les types de sachet avec une vitesse
d’absorption faible afin de maintenir un niveau d’humidité bas
à long terme.
Les sachets ne doivent pas entrer en contact direct avec le
matériel.

All materials including dunnage/blocking materials must be in
conformity because the CFIA may not allow the materials to be
fumigated in Canada and may order the return of the
cargo/container to the country of origin.
OVERSEAS
In addition to the application of the standard, this type of
packaging requires the following particular precautions:
- The crates must be thoroughly fumigated with an insecticide
(e.g.: Dragnet).
Note 1: The product used must be accepted by the final client.
Before placing the parts in the crate, it must be established
that all the machined steel surfaces have been coated with a
viscous oil or equivalent.
A fiber waxed paper should separate or wrap the metal parts.
Tools required:
- Aspirator with flexible tubing and suction head.
- Sealing iron (aluminum bag), ex: James Dawson.
In addition, this type of packaging requires the following steps:
Using a ¼” / 6.35mm polyethylene foam, protect the base of
the crate.
Build an aluminum bag (by heat sealing) following the internal
dimensions of the crate and insert it into the crate. This
operation requires the use of a hot wire iron (ex: James
Dawson).
The shipping crate will then be filled, taking care not to damage
the aluminum envelope.
A sufficient quantity of the de-hydrating agent must be
included in the packaging based on following the
manufacturer's recommendations:
Note 1: A unit of desiccant refers to its drying capacity. A unit is
the amount of product which will absorb at least three grams
of water vapor at 20 % relative humidity and at least six grams
of water vapor at 40 % relative humidity at 25oC (77oF).
Note 2: GE prefers package unit size with low water-vapor
absorption rate in order to maintain low humidity conditions
during a long period.
The bags must not come into direct contact with the material.

L’enveloppe d'aluminium sera alors fermée (par soudure) en
laissant une ouverture (bec), dans laquelle on insère le tube
d’un aspirateur, pour faire le vide du sac d’aluminium.
Quand le vide est obtenu, on scelle le bec, à l’aide du fer à
sceller.
Si une fuite existe, il faut la trouver, la colmater, et refaire le
vide avant de sceller le sac.
S'il reste un espace sous le couvercle, ce dernier doit être
comblé par calage.

AUXILIARIES AND ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
L’emballage de ces équipements tel que les boites de jonction,
armoires électriques, postes de vannage, etc. ne fait pas partie
de ce standard. Étant donné les requis très spécifiques pour
chaque équipement, le fournisseur est responsable de fournir
sa procédure d’emballage afin qu’elle soit approuvée par le
département d’ingénierie de GE.

On utilisera des pictogrammes à l’épreuve de l’eau, de
dimension minimale de 100 mm x 150 mm, peints, collés et/ou
brochés, selon le cas, pour indiquer des conditions particulières
aux produits à expédier, ex : précautions de manutention et
entreposage.
Les pictogrammes sont localisés sur deux (2) faces adjacentes
du colis à expédier.
14 PHOTOS / PICTURES
- Une fois protégée, la pièce ou la surface à protéger doit être
photographiée de façon détaillée.
- Une photo de la caisse devra être prise avec une caméra
numérique avant de mettre le couvercle.
- Une photo de la caisse ou Pièce d’Envergure est prise quand
le tout est prêt à expédier.
Ces photos seront fournies au département d’achat de GE par
courrier électronique pour évaluation, avant libération.

The aluminum envelope will then be closed (by heat sealing)
leaving an opening (lip), into which the aspirator tube is
inserted to evacuate the air within the aluminum bag.
When the vacuum is established, the lip is sealed using the
sealing iron.
If a leak exists, it must be located, plugged, and the bag must
be evacuated again before sealing.
If there is empty space reaming under the cover, this space
must be filled using shims.
The packing of these equipment such as junction boxes,
electrical cubicles, valves panels, etc. is not part of this
standard. Considering the very specific requirements for each
equipment, the supplier is responsible to submit its own
packing procedure for approval by GE’s Engineering
Department.
Waterproof pictograms will be used, with minimal dimensions
of 100 mm x 150 mm, stenciled, glued and/or stapled, as
required, to indicate the specific conditions for the products to
be shipped, i.e.: handling and storage precautions.
The pictograms are located on two (2) adjacent faces of the
package being shipped.
PICTURES
- Once protected, detail pictures of the component or the
protected area must be taken.
- A picture of the box should be taken with a digital camera
before closing it.
- A picture of the crate or Consolidated Part is taken when
everything is ready for shipment.
These pictures will be forwarded to GE‘s purchasing
department by e-mail for evaluation prior to release
