CRUDE OIL PRICES END MIX ON FRIDAY

Crude oil prices displayed a mixed undertone on Friday. Brent futures rose, after the Energy Information Administration (EIA) and American Petroleum Institute (API) reported a crude oil
inventory draw. Also, reports of strong US economic data further supported the price rise. WTI crude prices slipped, as Baker Hughes on Friday reported a rise in the number of active U.S.
oil rigs for four consecutive weeks. Also, the rapid spread of the pandemic in India the world's third largest oil consumer leading to renewed worries for the global oil and fuel demand as
the nation continues to reinstate its lockdown further supported the price fall.
Brent futures edged higher by 17 cents or 0.24 percent, settling at $69.63 per barrel, while WTI futures declined by 53 cents or 0.79 percent, settling at $66.32 per barrel.
Brent prices rose, after the Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported a crude oil inventory draw of 1.279 million barrels, for the week ended May 21. Gasoline stockpiles also fell
by 1.7 million barrels while distillate stocks slipped by 3 million barrels.

Earlier this week on Tuesday, the American Petroleum Institute (API) reported a crude oil inventory draw of 439,000 barrels for the week ended May 21. Distillate stocks tumbled by 5.137
million barrels, while gasoline inventories slipped by 1.986 million barrels.
DAILY INTERNATIONAL POLYOLEFIN PRICES: Monday, May 31, 2021
According to reports, the data from the US Labor Department showed that the number of workers filing for new unemployment benefits witnessed a decline by about 500,000 in the
latest week. The number of jobless claims is reported to have seen their lowest levels in over a year ever since the COVID-19 outbreak.

WTI prices declined, as Baker Hughes on Friday reported that the number of active U.S. oil rigs rose by 3 at 359 this week, following the consecutive rise for the previous three weeks. The
total active U.S. rig count, climbed by 2 at 457.
The global number of cases for the virus have now exceeded 169 million. The third wave of the pandemic has forced countries around the globe to reconsider stricter lockdown
restrictions following the spike in the number of cases.
Prices slipped, as the demand outlook in India, the world’s second-largest crude oil importer dampened due to the recently registered record highs for the number of pandemic cases.
Daily new cases and deaths reported are at all-time highs in India, resulting in the United States and other countries exporting supplies like supplemental oxygen to support India.
