In the classroom, the teacher serves as the students' second mother and is
responsible for providing them with sufficient information and education, raising
awareness of important issues, and empowering their behavior. The responsibility of a
teacher, however, does not stop with instruction; on occasion, the instructor must also
impose disciplinary measures in reaction to the wrongdoing of the students. In response,
a number of solutions have been created to help teachers deal with a variety of incidences
of misbehavior in the classroom.
The aforementioned approach, which was especially created to handle the issue
in a professional manner without compromising the students' safety and privacy, was
commonly applied in the classroom context. Although the three proactive strategies are
advantageous, as a future educator, I created my own strategies that were always
favorable to the situation. I took into account the varied characteristics of the student, and
select the best strategies for dealing with or handling students who had behavioral issues.
Given the variety of student attitudes and circumstances, teaching life skills was the most
appropriate option for me.
Life skills are abilities that assist humans in dealing effectively with life's
expectations and difficulties as explained by Martin, Danish, and Hodge (2013). To put it
another way, it is a set of behavioral and psychological skills that benefit both the learner
and those around them. Teaching students the necessary skills will help them become
independent and courageous in dealing with their own circumstances. I understand how
vital it is for teachers to support or guide misbehaving students. However, we must
remember that before helping others, the student must first help himself/herself. This is
another argument for teaching life skills; giving them the required information and training
will benefit them. It will also help them become more self-reliant, in managing their
behavior, actions, and reactions.
