Reflection Essay

1. How about you? What do you usually do when you are stress?

The body's reaction to a demand or challenge is stress. Everyone


experiences stress, which can be brought on by a variety of situations, ranging
from minor inconveniences to significant life changes like divorce or job loss.
Physical symptoms like an increased heart rate and blood pressure, thoughts and
beliefs about the stressful event, and emotions like fear and rage are all part of the
stress response. (Cleveland Clinic, 2022). This is the most general understanding
of stress. However, stress can also be as simple as overthinking, fatigue, and
anything else that has a negative impact on the mental health. For instance, some
stress is normal and beneficial like when it keeps you alert to potential threats and
motivates you to reach your goal. Nonetheless, there have been different coping
strategies that people apply to deal with it.

Being a child and being ignorant are both ardent aspects that I want to have
now as I realize that life is not all about colors and smiles, but facing challenges is
an unavoidable part of life. Actually, whenever I'm stressed, I think about various
"what ifs" and "what will happen." I always overthink to the point of exhaustion and
anxiety. However, remaining in this situation has a negative impact on my well-
being, which is why I look for a comfortable de-stress strategy that is tailored to
me, just like my habit. Reading helps me unwind. I read a lot on Wattpad and
literary folio and usually find something that speaks my dreams and aspirations.
This is how I get away from it all and enjoy a short and inexpensive vacation.
Reading also allows me to relax and take a break. But every now and then, I laid
down my books and also listen to music, particularly worship songs, which inspire
me and help me remember everything I forget when I'm stressed. When I'm
stressed, I use these techniques.

It is also essential for me to allow myself to express my thoughts, not literally


saying whatever is on my mind, but letting them out through habit or passion. I also
allow myself to consult with my most trusted friends or family members. I
understand how important it is to release the pressure that has caused me stress,
but I have never learned to express myself; this is my weakness, and I am still
learning and hoping that one day I will be able to express myself comfortably and
without fear.
