Mercier Ch. 9 Homework #1: Rigging elections in the U.S.

Cambridge Analytica directly changed voting behavior. For example, in an election, they
will know about voters' preferences and social media usage behavior when collecting data
from Facebook users. After that, they will be able to create advertising campaigns that
target the subjects whom voters care about. For example, if some Facebook users are
concerned about the Migration Issues, which has several problems, Cambridge Analytica
may be aware of this and sell information to the candidate. Following that, politicians
will spend time debating the issue and promising to address it if voters elect them.
