Lesson Topic: Adverbs of frequency, prepositions of time, jobs, a letter to a friend ( daily routines),
TIME: 4 hours PAGES:10-14 MATERIALS: books, workbooks, paper, pencils. EQUIPMENT: radio

Objectives: By the end of these activities SWBAT:

Activity 1:

* Report to the class about their daily routine activities

* Ss think of their daily routines and exchange information with a partner.

Activity 2:

* Give examples of activities people are doing.

* ask and answer questions

Activity 3:

* Categorize activities into parts of the day, from the reading

* ss will correct the statements from reading

Activity 4:

* give out personal information

* fill out a form

Activity 5:

* write a letter to a friend from summer camp or any vacation place.

Life Skills and Values: Diversity

Present students with your daily work.


The t will start the class by stating how busy he /she is and what a crazy day it has been.
T will ask a student to write on the board all the things he / she has done today…
* Take attendance
Warm Up * Go over the homework. 10 min
Activity 1 Ss will classify teachers information into “one time event” “ daily routine” 5 min

speaking Ss will think about their day and discuss with a partner. Ss should be encouraged to 10 min
discuss their onetime events as well “ went to the bank” etc…

writing Ss will write up a chart about their day:


10 am take a shower
11 am go to school
12 pm have lunch

Activity 2 The t will direct ss to the board where his/ her info is written, and ask “what was I doing 10 min
this morning?” ss will answer using the teachers information
T will explain the difference between “ what do you do?” and “ what are you doing?” 5 min

Speaking * Ss will go around the classroom and ask 3 partners what they were doing at a certain 20 min
time.

Ss will work in a group to complete ex. 3 and 4 in page 10 book.


T will walk around the classroom assessing pronunciation, sentence structure and
correctness.
Listening * Listening on P. 10 ex. 2 10 min

Activity 3 P. 11 READING
Pre T will direct student to the mentioned page and ask them to skim the reading and classify 5 min
reading “Alain Pepin’s” day into MORNINGS – AFTERNOON – EVENING activitites. (daily routines,
free time activities, etc)
Ss may make a chart in the board as a class or work in groups.
Reading 10 min
T. will ask ss to read the article individually. 20 min.
Ss will read the article once more in groups of 3 to verify their charts and modify any
information on it.
Speaking 10 min
Ss will discuss vocabulary words in groups, using dictionaries.
Writing 5 min.
Listening Ss will complete ex. 8 on page 11 in book to correct sentences and discuss in class.

Activity 4 PERSONAL INFORMATION.
Ss will be encouraged to find out as much information as possible from each other. 20 min
Speaking Use the form attached. UNIT 1C.PDF and select which activity fits your class.

listening Ss will go over the listening on page 12 5 min

writing Ss will find the synonyms and antonyms for the words on p.12 x 5

Activity 5 WRITING
PRE Ss will individually read the article on P. 13 Ex 7,8 and complete in groups. 1 hour
writing 15 min
speaking Class discussion
Writing Ss will work in groups to write an ad using the outline on page 13 x 10. BOOK
Ss will proofread each other’s work and then, write it out in clean
Ss will publish their stories in the classroom and go over the other’s groups work.
Extra points for creativity.
