HEXAGON AGILITY TEST

- This test is a measure of speed, agility and the ability to change direction while
maintaining balance. The test involves quickly jumping in and out of a hexagon shape.

Explanation: Sinusukat sa test na ito ang iyong bilis and ability to jump while maintaining your
balance. And also to see if there are any imbalances between your left and right movement
skills.

AIM: This is a test of the ability to move quickly while maintaining balance.
Explanation: Ang aim ng test na ito ay ang mabilis na paglipat sa ibang direction habang nag-
maintain ng iyong balance.

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: tape measure, chalk or tape for marking ground, stopwatch

Tape Measure chalk

Explanation: So, ano nga ba ang mga equipment na kailangan sa pagsagawa ng test na ito?
Ang mga equipment na nirerequired sa paggawa ng test na ito ay ang mga sumusunod: tape
measure, chalk or tape for marking ground, and stopwatch.

PROCEDURE:
1. Using athletic tape, mark a hexagon(six sided shape) on the floor.
2. The length of each side should be 24 inches (60.5 cm), and each angle should work out to be
120 degrees.
3. The person to be tested starts with both feet together in the middle of the hexagon facing the
front line.
4. On the command 'go', they jump ahead across the line, then back over the same line into the
middle of the hexagon.
5. Then, continuing to face forward with feet together, jump over the next side and back into the
hexagon. Continue this pattern for three full revolutions.
6. Perform the test both clockwise and anti-clockwise.
Explanation: So, first, we need to mark a hexagon (a six sided shape) on the floor by using
athletic tape. Ang dapat na length each side ay 24 inches or 60.5 cm and each angle should be
120 degrees.
Next, ang taong itetest ay magsisimula nang magkadikit ang dalawang paa sa gitna ng hexagon
while facing the front line or line A throughout the test.
On the word “GO” starts the stopwatch. Then the person to be tested will jump with both feet
over line B and back to the middle, then over line C and back to the middle, then line D and so
on.
Ipagpapatuloy lang ang pattern na ito for three full revolutions. After ma complete ang three full
revolutions, i-stop ang stopwatch and records the time.
Lastly, ipeperform ang test na ito both clockwise and anti-clockwise. And if the person to be
tested jump the wrong line or di kaya ay nag land sa line, ang test ay dapat maulit sa simula.

SCORING:
The athletes score is the time taken to complete three full revolutions. The best score from two
trials is recorded. Comparison of the anti-clockwise and clockwise directions will show if any
imbalances exist between left and right movement skills.
GENDER EXCELLENT ABOVE AVERAGE BELOW POOR
AVERAGE AVERAGE
Male <11.2 secs 11.2–13.3 13.4-15.5 15.6-17.8 >17.8 secs
secs secs secs
Female <12.2 secs 12.2-15.3 15.4-18.5 18.6-21.8 >21.8 secs
secs secs secs
Explanation: So, ang score ng taong tinest is yung oras na na-take nya in completing the three
full revolutions. Dapat naka record yung score niya, both anti-clockwise and clockwise, in order
to see if there are any imbalances between his left and right movement skills.
Based on the table above, if you are a male and ang time na nakuha mo is less than 11.2
seconds, it means you are excellent but if you got greater than 17.8 seconds, then you are
considered poor.
Pero if you’re a female naman and ang time na nakuha mo is less than 12.2 seconds, it means
you’re excellent but if you got greater than 21.8 seconds, then you’re considered poor.

ADVANTAGES:
 Minimal equipment required
 Simple to set up and conduct
 The athlete can administer the test
 Can be conducted almost anywhere
Explanation: So, one of the advantages of this test is it only requires minimal equipment.
Which means kaunti lamang ang equipment na kakailanganin natin. We only need tape
measure, chalk or tape and stopwatch sa pagsagawa sa test na ito.
It is very easy and simple to conduct dahil ang gagawin lamang natin is oorasan ang sarili while
performing the test.
We can even do it on our own. Pwede nating orasan ang sarili habang ginagawa ang test.
Ang test na ito ay pwedeng gawin kahit saan as long as you have enough space for the
hexagon shape.

DISADVANTAGES:
 Specific facility required – 24 inches or 60.5 cm sided hexagon marked out on the floor.
 Only one person can perform the test at a time.
Explanation: For this test, there is a specific facility required. Like, the size of the hexagon
marked out on the floor should be 24 inches or 60.5 cm. And one person lang ang pwedeng
magperform sa isang hexagon. Hindi pwedeng two or more, only one person lang allowed.
