In this Sunday, we are reminded that we can always reach God through prayer. God is ready
to listen to us, but we must not give up before God has a chance to answer us. We are
challenged not to give up when making a request to God. Our relationship with God must be
strong and we must be confident, that no matter what we are encountering, God is always
near to us. Prayer does make a difference and it does change things for the better. God’s
justice is always present among us. Even when things seem hopeless and we wonder if we
are wasting our time, our faith and persistence will help us to see God at work in our lives.
The widow in the Gospel recognized this and so must we. God cares about what matters to
us. None of our efforts are futile. God knows our needs before they ever reach our lips, but
God does not force us. Through the prayers and support of family and friends, we have
learned to trust in God. God does not work on my schedule, but God is faithful. The maker of
heaven and earth cares for each of us. God reminds us that what we need to persevere is
within us giving us the strength to face another day.
