Matthew 6:25–34 (NKJV)

Our Father in heaven; we thank you.

May we not worry about our lives,

what we will eat or
what we will drink;
nor about our bodies,
what we will put on.

Life is more than food and the body is more than clothing. We see the birds of the air, Lord, for
they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet, heavenly Father, You feed them. We are of
more value than they.

None of us by worrying can add one cubit to our stature. We will not to worry about clothing.
We consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet Jesus says
to us that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Now since You, heavenly Father, so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow
is thrown into the oven, You will much more clothe us—we of little faith.

Therefore may we not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or
‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the heathen seek. For You know, heavenly
Father, that we need all these things. But may we seek first Your kingdom and Your
righteousness, and all these things shall be added to us.

Therefore may we not to worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.
Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

In the name of Jesus, amen.
