state as inadequate in this
module for the lesson that
I plan to create, is that the
amount and depth of
summative evaluation is
not appropriate. My
learners need to be
assessed on more than just
their ability to interpret
laboratory values to
adequately care for
patients so this would need
to be redone almost in
operative
considerations. I would
include increased
clinical resources as an
optional opportunity
for learners to evaluate
and include more real-
life clincal results,
imaging, and intra-
operative narration
I would include an
increased number of
higher level,
summative assessment
questions throughout
the module the ensure
that the learners were
able to adequately
assess their level of
understanding as they
progressed through the
content. Each
assessment question
would then also
include a "time out”
for explanations of
why each answer
choice is right/wrong,
much like modern day
boards-preparation
question banks are
formatted. This way

learning associated
with each wrong
answer, as well as right
answer, provided the
student chooses to
spend the time reading
through each point.

Final Decision: I would rather complete a new module based on reasons included in the columns
above. Based on my course/intended purpose for this module, I do not believe the amount or detail of
information is appropriate to adequately prepare the intended audience to the full depth of knowledge
required of them. In addition, the organization seems to be off (quiz questions 1& 2 come before
prompts to evaluate lab values and take the quiz) and some of the adjunctive resources are out of
date (journal article from 2015) and full CT scan link that no longer works (at least on my current
browser).
