The covid 19 pandemic has been a disaster for the world for the last two years.
Indonesia is one of the countries hit by the Covid 19 pandemic. This has made the whole
world, including Indonesia, continue to make efforts to be able to adapt as a form of
normalizing the country's conditions to remain stable. Prof. Dr. Ir. R. Eko Indrajit, an
academic, information technology expand part, and director of pgri slcc said, "The Covid-19
pandemic is capable of destroying all lines of life. It's just that if everyone can get through it
well, the community will be tougher.” This is certainly true in the world of education.
In the new normal, it is possible that traditional learning activities will be limited and
concerns arise about the effectiveness of learning activities with this new model. This
pandemic affects many sectors, one of which is the education sector in Indonesia. Education
has a very important contribution to improving the quality of a nation. The principle
emphasized by the government regarding education in Indonesia is to continue to prioritize
health and safety.
"During this pandemic, of course, they will demand blended learning. Because
everyone already knows a lot about technology and also parental support," explained Prof.
Eko.
The use of technology in education must be seen as a way to encourage the
improvement of the quality of education in this era. In facing the rapid development of
technology, digital literacy is the key and the main foundation that must be owned. Digital
literacy activities from students require more innovative learning media to generate
motivation to learn and enable students to master better learning objectives. In addition,
teaching methods must be more varied, not just verbal communication through the words
spoken by the teacher.
In addition, 5 strategic steps must be taken by schools after the Covid-19 pandemic,
including conducting a review of the learning targets to be achieved, identifying the resources
that need to be owned and held so that the new goals that have been set can be achieved, map
the situation and the condition of each teacher and student who must be prepared to carry out
a new learning model based on blended learning, examine the gap between needs and
availability to develop strategic and operational steps that need to be carried out immediately
to bridge it, and finally, carry out the execution of these steps creatively and innovatively by
establishing various partnerships.
