Method Statement For Repairing Surface Spalling Concrete Or Shallow

Honeycomb Using StoCrete NSG H + Filler 4 to 6mm

The following steps are normally used in spalling concrete or shallow honeycomb repair with
StoCrete NSG H + Filler 4 to 6mm.

Steps

1. Remove all defective spalling concrete or honeycomb concrete with hammer and chisel or
pneumatic or electrical hammers until sound concrete is found.

2. Trim the edges of all repair area by a recess of 5mm to 7mm to avoid feather edging.

3. Remove all rust from the rebars by power brush or other approved means.

4. If the cross-sectional areas of the rebars are reduced by more than 15%, additional rebars with
adequate lapping or welding shall be added.

5. All existing rebars shall be treated with StoDivers RustPruf, one component zinc-rich anti-
corrosion primer for steel reinforcement.

6. Saturate the areas to be repaired with water and remove any excess water.

7. Apply StoCrete SBR HD, bonding agent to the steel and concrete surfaces.

8. Mix using a drill mixer, StoCrete NSG H with 5.2 to 5.6L of water and add in Filler 4 to 6mm,
chipping aggregate. Mix until they are homogenous.

9. While the bonding agent is still tacky, pour in StoCrete NSG H + Filler 4 to 6mm, compact and
trowel to achieve the required thickness and surface finish.

10. Cure the repair area with StoCryl SCC or other approve curing means.
