II. Course Title: Philippine English

III. Course Description: This course describes the linguistics features and the socio-linguistic bases of the Philippine variety of English.

IV. Course Outcomes:

At the end of the course, the student must have:

a. Acquaint the situation of English in the Philippines;

b. Integrate competency in both written and oral aspects of English to unlock the characteristics, aspects, and status of English in the Philippine context;
c. Identify the issues, concerns, and trends in the Philippine English as well as its relevance in the Philippine education system;
d. Master research based literature and sources to improve critical thinking skills; and
e. Participate in constructing ideas in strengthening language diversity to further improve the studies that involves Philippine English.
