NOTIFICATION
Islamabad, the 13" December 2006
S.R.O. (1)2006.- In exercise of the powers conferred by Section
26 of the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority Ordinance, 2002 (XXII
of 2002), the Federal Government is pleased to direct that the following
amendments shall be made in the Public Procurement Rules 2004, namely:
In the aforesaid rules; -
(a) Inrule 12, -
(i) In sub-rule (1),
(a) for the words “forty”, the words “one hundred”
shall be substituted.
(b) for the words “one million” the words “two million”
shall be substituted.
(c) for the full stop at the end the colon shall be
substituted and thereafter the following proviso
shall be added, namely: -
“Provided that the lower financial limit for
advertisement on Authority's website for open
competitive bidding shall be the prescribed financial
limit for request for quotations under clause (b) of
tule 42”, and
(ii) _ in sub-rule (2), for the words “one million”, the words
“two million” shall be substituted.
(b) in rule 13, in sub-rule (1), for the words “working days”, twice
occurring, the word “days” shall be substituted. _
(c) in rule 14, for the words “forty thousand rupees” the words,
brackets and figures “prescribed financial limit which is
applicable under sub-clause (i) of clause (b) of rule 42” shall be
substituted.
(d) in rule 21, for the words “forty thousand rupees the words,
brackets and figures “the prescribed financial limit which is
applicable under sub-clause (i) of clause (b) of rule 42” shall be
substituted; and5 (e) ‘inrule 42.
(i) in clause (a), for the words “ten thousand” the words “twenty-
five thousand” shall be substituted.
(ii) in clause (b).
(a) in sub-clause (i), for the words “forty thousand’, the
words “one hundred thousand” shall be substituted
and.
(b) for the semicolon, at the end, a colon shall be
substituted and thereafter the following proviso shall be
added, namely:-
“Provided that the respective Boards of
autonomous bodies are authorized to fix an
appropriate limit for request for quotations
method of procurement subject to a
maximum of rupees five hundred thousand
which will become financial limit under this
sub-rule”
(iii) in sub-clause (vi), for the full stop at the end, the semicolon
and word “, and” shall be substituted and thereafter the
following new clause shall be added, namely: -
“(vii) for purchase of motor cars from local original
manufacturers or their authorized agents at
manufacturer's price”.
