CHECK OUT THE MODEL AND OTHER TIPS BELOW:

PLAN

IDENTIFY: Define the problem clearly. Identify current methods, standards and procedures.
OBSERVE: Describe the problem and look at its characteristics from different points of view.
ANALYSE: Investigate and confirm the real causes, not the effects of the problem. Evaluate possible alternatives to eliminate the cause.
ACTION PLAN: Document an action plan to prevent (or minimize) the cause of the problem. Set goals, schedule and methods.

DO

EXECUTE: Perform the steps defined in the action plan. Observe and compare the predicted and accomplished schedule.

CHECK

VERIFY: Monitor the results and if there is no preventing the cause, go back to "NOTES" and make corrections.
ACT

STANDARDIZE: Use the standard adopted to prevent the reappearance of the problem.
CONCLUSION: Measure the results, validate the problem solving process, and apply incremental continuous improvements.

IDENTIFY

- Identify and define problem clearly.


- Evaluate the importance of the problem.
- Identify the current standard methods, procedures.

OBSERVE

- Investigate the characteristics and details of the problem.


- Define the relevance of the problem.
- Broaden your vision. Assess the situation from various points of view.
- Talk to people who will act directly on the execution and broaden your perception of the actual present situation.
ANALYZE

- Find out the real causes of the problem.


- Often the effect is taken as the cause. Try to differentiate.
- Evaluate possible solutions and alternatives.
- Identify objective actions that touch the cause, not the effect.

ACTION PLAN

- Define an action plan to prevent (or minimize) the causes of the problem.
- Set goals to achieve and a schedule to follow.
- Define the methods to use.
- Be clear what the results achieved will mean.
- Define the responsible for each step / goal.
- Record this plan in a document.
DO - (PDCA CYCLE + QS)

EXECUTE

- Train people to interpret the plan and work with focus.


- Get feedback from each person involved in understanding the plan.
- Perform the steps defined in the action plan.
- Observe and compare the predicted and accomplished schedule.
- Compare also qualitative aspects. Make sure that the people involved have a clear understanding of the plan.
- Make sure that the people involved give feedback on understanding details for the execution of the plan.
CHECK - (PDCA CYCLE + QS)

VERIFY

- Monitor results and create indicators.


- Check results and check for cause prevention.
- If there is no effect on the cause, go back to the observation step of the letter "P" in the PDCA cycle.
- Identify and make the necessary corrections.
- Evaluate the learning and review goals and results.
