health. It emphasizes the promotion of community, public and
environmental health through immersion of students with the people of

¡11. Laboratory management- planning, organizing,


staffing directing and controlling in a clinical laboratory

¡13. Hematology 1 and 2– Study of concepts of blood as a tissue. Study of
procedures and tests perform for laboratory such as CBC, Platelet count, Blood
smearing and many others.

¡14. Clinical microscopy – focuses on urine and other body fluids (excluding blood).
¡ - routine urinalysis (macroscopic, microscopic and chemical examination)

¡15. Clinical chemistry 1 & 2 – encompasses the concepts and principles of
physiologically active soluble substances and waste materials present in the body fluids,
particularly in blood.
¡Note: CC2 also covers the study of endocrine gland and hormone.

¡17. Molecular Biology and Diagnostics – deals with nucleic acid and protein
molecule interaction within the cell. It also deals with the application of different
molecular techniques as tools in the diagnosis of diseases.

Philippine Association of Medical
Technologists, Inc. (PAMET)

• A non-stock, non-profit national organization of Registered Medical


Technologists (RMTs).
• It is a national body with 46 provincial chapters nationwide and four
international chapters – Singapore, Eastern Region Middle East,
Western Region Middle East and USA.
Philippine Association of Medical
Technologists, Inc. (PAMET)

• Founded on September 15, 1963 during the first organizational


meeting through the initiative of Crisanto G. Almario who
considered as the “Father of PAMET” at the Public Health
Laboratory in Quiricada St., Sta. Cruz, Manila.

• It organized its first national convention and election of officers


on September 20, 1964 at FEU-Manila.

• Charlemagne T. Tamondong became its first president.


Philippine Association of Medical
Technologists, Inc. (PAMET)
• It was during the presidency of Nardito D. Moraleta that PAMET
was incorporated and registered at the Securities and Exchange
Commission (SEC) on October 14, 1969 with Registration No.
39570.

• It is formally recognized as the only accredited professional


organization of RMTs in the Philippines via PD No. 223 approved
on June 22, 1973.

Brief History:
• First organized in 2002 during the leadership
of former PASMETH president, Dr. Zenaida C.
Cajucom.
• First PHISMETS advisers were Prof. Marilyn
Bala (CHS), Prof. Nova Aida C. Cajucom (FEU-
NRMF) and Prof. Zennie B. Aceron (UST).
